The numbers are consistent with what I have read over the years.

I don't see anything here that we disagree on except you may be implying that 50% of the population is paying enough.
Our whole system is screwed up. If everyone HAD skin in the game then no Democrat would EVER be elected!
There really is love dirtboy. I love pissant too! ;D!

I’m shocked, shocked I tells ya!
If they dropped it to 48% of the population, they probably would find that they paid 0% of the total tax.

Heck, a bunch of them get rebates but pay zero tax. That’s ‘progressive’ in action.

I don't see anything here that we disagree on except you may be implying that 50% of the population is paying enough.I am implying no such thing. My opinion is that taxes are too high for just about everyone, mainly because government is way too big. But this statement:
According to IRS data, the bottom 50% of wage earners paid a total of 2.99% of all taxes
Is clearly incorrect.

, the bottom 50% of wage earners paid a total of 2.99% of all taxes almost none...
Maybe if you're only looking at income taxes. I doubt I'm in the top 50 percent, and I have paid plenty of taxes.

If your AGI is over $35K, you’re in the top 50%.

What should make your blood boil is that it took you so long to find out. It's been true since at least Clinton's tenure. Remember the largest tax increase of all time? That was a good start, and chump change compared to what Hussein has planned.
took me about 30 seconds to find a useful site...

My point is I'm sick of misleading statistics from both sides in debating the state of the fedgov. And I'm sick of sweeping, unfounded assertions.
Your post is long on outrage and devoid of supporting facts. Afraid of what you'll find if you start digging?
Having trouble undestanding percentages?

Having trouble undestanding percentages? I understand them just fine. Your problem is, you pick and choose what percentages.

The statement in question:
According to IRS data, the bottom 50% of wage earners paid a total of 2.99% of all taxes
The claim here is ALL taxes ... not Federal Income taxes. Do try to keep up.
