The KGB funded and directed the hippy protests and movements in the US in the 60s, I would not be suprised to find that outside influences may be active in helping the protests in Iran. They aren’t the instantiators of them, but taking advantage of the situation for their own benefits? Certainly, it is the nature of politics.

Both Russia and China were pro-Mousawi pre-election, and the Euros have spoken out loudly post election. We're taking the "high road", I'm sure the Mullahs will be grateful. And in the unlikely case they fall, the students will know who their friends are.

I’m not defending Fauxbamas utter mishandling of this, it is shameful he won’t simply come out and articulate the US is always on the side of liberty... but then again, he personally isn’t so how can he claim his country is.

I’m just saying I wouldn’t write off that outsiders are aiding or involved at some level in this, I don’t believe they are the direct instantiators of this, but using the situation on the ground to their benefit would not suprise me.

I know if I was Israel for example and I know Iran is trying to get the nuke and openly states its desire to destroy me, I surely will have people on the ground there doing anything they could to take down the current regime. Of course the opposition candidate here isn’t exactly a pro isreal guy so I am not buying they instiatiate this... The mullah’s created this mess and are exacerbating it daily, but that doesn’t mean other forces aren’t in play as well.

"I supported Pat for a while, and then he went crazy."

Politically he became a joke when he took that commie Leonora Fulani as his VEEP on his "Reform" Party ticket.

"Reform?" More like "Relive"... as in Pat trying to relive the Hitler-Stalin pact!

My guess Israel would prefer Ahmadinejad to Mousawi. Mousawi would present a less radical face to the world, but he’s in favor of both a nuclear Iran and the destruction of Israel. He’d probably rein in Hizbollah and Hamas a bit, but only because he sees a different way. I hope someone is supporting the students covertly, but there’s no way of knowing, and certainly no evidence of it. The only non-Iranians reported on the ground are pro-Ahmadinejad Arabs, and there’s no real indication of organizational aid, much less arms. Other than by twitter, of course.

"Protest Are Tools of Neocons and Israel"

I wonder if Pat considered Ronald Reagan a neocon and Lech Walesa a tool?

This is from a great link (posted here on FR of cause) to what Walesa said about this.

"In Solidarity
The Polish people, hungry for justice, preferred "cowboys" over Communists."

"When talking about Ronald Reagan, I have to be personal. We in Poland took him so personally. Why? Because we owe him our liberty. This can't be said often enough by people who lived under oppression for half a century, until communism fell in 1989."

" Poles fought for their freedom for so many years that they hold in special esteem those who backed them in their struggle. Support was the test of friendship. President Reagan was such a friend. His policy of aiding democratic movements in Central and Eastern Europe in the dark days of the Cold War meant a lot to us. We knew he believed in a few simple principles such as human rights, democracy and civil society."

At the time Pat kept his opinion to himself, but Ron Paul was one of Reagan's most outspoken critics on this policy.

That's fair to say, as to non-bigoted Israel-loving Jews, I doubt there are any. They're all bigots, aren't they.

I just don't understand the logic of going after Buchannan when your own house is in such disarray. Who is really doing more damage to Israel?

You're only right in that I inaccurately remembered the particulars of their alliance. Fulani was co-chair of Buchanans campaign:
June 19, 2000 | Pat Buchanan and Lenora Fulani exchanged "Dear John" letters today, bringing the unlikely union of the social conservative and longtime leftist to a formal end. Though tensions had been brewing between the two sides for weeks, Fulani's resignation as co-chair of the Buchanan campaign Monday comes at an inopportune time for Buchanan, as Reform Party voters begin to cast ballots in the party's presidential primary. Pat is what us conservative evangelicals call a “Replacement Theologist”....Pat doesn’t believe that present day Israel is the “Fig Tree” Christ mentioned in Matt 24....so any opinion Pat makes public about Israel has to be taken with a grain of salt.

Additionally, the dark side goes substantually deeper than the KGB....

My house isn't in disarray nor do I see any reason Buchanan should be exempt from criticism.

What is just as bad, there are many on FR just like Buchanan and his Third Party mentality.

The D.C. shooter was Anti NeoCon, Anti Jewish
just like Pat & the Third Party loons on FR.
These anti war, anti neocon, anti Israel, loons should have been zotted from FR long ago.

They just give fuel to the left who label all of FR that way.

MSDNC employs Pat Buchanan for the sole reason of misrepresenting the views of the Right.

Right on the money. He is a counter-useful idiot for the left.

Will actually complimented Obama on his handling of this Iranian crisis, which shouldn't be that surprising given his criticism of Reagan when he delivered the "tear down this wall" speech.

What criticism? Do you have a quote? There are plenty of quotes by Will accusing Reagan of being seduced by Gorbachev into taking too soft a stand. Do you really have one by him attacking Reagan's speech for being too hardline?

Criticize away but, as they say, actions speak louder than words and so far the actions of the overwhelming jewish vote for Obama have done more damage than all the words Buchannan have ever spoken. And the party's just begun.
