DING DING DING!!!!
We have a winnah!
“...I just think she needs to grow some between the ears. When I hear her, I dont get a feeling of wisdom emanating from her. And man, Ill probably get flamed for this, but there are a lot of smart soccer moms out there. That doesnt translate into presidential material. I think she has potential, but I hope she takes to listening and learning some.”
***********************************************
What you actually mean is that you don’t hear pseudo-intellectual sophistry from her. If you have ears to hear, she speaks wisdom with every breath.
How many smart soccer moms are elected governor, achieve approval ratings of near 90%, and are chosen to run for VPoTUS?
The last thing to worry about is whether Sarah Louise Heath Palin will drive herself with fierce determination to learn whatever she needs to learn to accomplish her missions in life. How do you think she has accomplished what she has?
Parsy, consider yourself politely flamed. Have a nice day.
She’ll be a trainwreck unless she gets much better preparation and support (she received little from McCain’s team) if she becomes the nominee. If she doesn’t, she’ll provide lots of ad-ready fodder for the libs.
Palin’s issue isn’t intellect...not at all.
Her “issues” last time were akin to a AA ballplayer being sent up to the majors to start game one of the World Series. She just wasn’t ready...and the team didn’t support her. Some good support and prep work will make her very solid as a canddiate.
I hope he's right.
I used to read his column in NewsMax. He's a bright guy.
The Rebublicans with the biggest pairs these days are women!
Sarah Palin, unlike the other candidates, is MORE than the sum of her parts.
Alan Keyes 2012!
Palin Ping. Lots of good Palin photos here. I saw her in person in October. She looked like post 12. The woman glows from within, and gets tears in her eyes when she speaks of God, family, and our soldiers.
She has held elective office since 1992. Sheesh!
Standing your ground is great IF you are on solid ground. I like Palin, I just don’t think she is some great conservative Messiah. Yet. She may turn out to be. Right now, when I have listened to her, she just fails to come across TO ME as another Reagan. I don’t think Reagan had a clue as to what Avocado’s Number was, but with Reagan, I always had the feeling that he was sincere, had good instincts, and was competent. So far, with me, Palin has just gotten past sincere and has a way to go before I feel comfortable that she hs good instincts and is competent.
parsy, who is not an effete liberal snob
Please provide a link to a list of all Palin's conservative accomplishments--not quotes---accomplishments.
Giving no quarter should not be out right dismissal of Sarah as many have done from the beginning and still do.
Thats my point. Politics isn’t just about “fighting” it is also about winning and accomplishing something. I suspect Arnold could run rings around Palin. Conservatives who put all their eggs into the Palin basket may wake up some day with eggs on their faces.
I think people can grow the more they are in the public arena. Take for example, Al Sharpton. When he got started he was as dumb as a bag of hammers. As he has aged, and had to defend some of his more idiotic ideas, he has grown. We may not agree with him on many issues, but he has at least become a respectable spokesperson for his side.
Palin doesn’t have nearly as far to go as he did, but IMHO she still comes off a bit ditzy sometimes.
parsy, who will hate to have to say “I told you so” one day to Freeperdom.
No substance in your post whatsoever.
No you didn't.
City council member for 4 years
Mayor for 6 years
Ran for Lt Gov and lost but...
Chaired Alaska's Oil and Gas Commission, resigned in protest against corruption
Governor of Alaska
She has fought for lower taxes, ethical government, less spending, and sound energy policies
If you want to nit-pick and get into details, then do your own research. But this is classic Big Picture conservatism as espoused by Reagan. That's good enough for me.
OK, but can you really say that you and most other conservatives weren’t holding your breaths and secretly praying she didn’t say something stupid every time she opened her mouth? I know I was.
parsy, who still owes God a cathredal and a couple of orphanages
So we can't put up a candidate unless Keith Olberman and David Letterman approve? The driveby media was tickled when they shoved McCain on us and exploded in rage when Sarah joined the ticket. Doesn't that indicate that they're afraid of her and not him?
I believe Sarah Palin could be president in 2012. If we get that far.
