Here is the ad that got Bob's Boxers a bit tight.

Bob - where morality is where he wants it to appear (or look the other way). Imagine how the rapes these middle age and horndogs who are approaching nursing car appear to them in the clear light of day. Going God's Way.

No one is so stupid as to use their real names or use credit cards and checks with hookers are they?

Besides Bob Beckel...

Or Jerry Springer

I think too many people are exposed on the internet as it is. Oh, wait... nevermind.

Seriously, if society were capable of shunning behaviour adequately, we wouldn’t need government control. Libertarians ought to support the evolution of handling such matters without the need for government intervention. Don’t like people knowing what you’re doing with prostitutes? Don’t do it. But if you do, don’t look to big govenment to protect you from disapproval.

Exactly. I support the freedom to do it, and I support those doing it having to take the responsibility for it, too.

I’m a libertarian. Prostitution should be legal. Why is it anybody’s business what to consenting adults do

Well, by that reasoning I would gather that you are A-OK with this blog then. It's no business of yours what this private citizen is doing.

>> I’m a libertarian... Why is it anybody’s business what to consenting adults do. <<

I think you’re confusing “libertarian” with “libertine.” The libertarian position is not that any behavior is moral; it’s that the government is an invalid or incompetent enforcer of morality, which is better left to the discernment of private citizens.

Soliciting prostitution is a depraved act. It commoditizes sexuality, exploits economic desperation, fosters an underground economy, and spreads diseases. In one sense, it’s more evil than it used to be, now that women are more promiscuous; it used to be about simulating intimacy, now it’s about purchasing license for degrading behavior... if you wanted to simulate intimacy, you could pick up a chick for a one night stand, unless you’re a sixty year old looking for sex with 20 year olds.

The libertarian position could certainly argue for prostitution being legal. At the very least, it would make it a very difficult crime to prosecute. But that’s a far cry from arguing it isn’t anyone’s business. If your kid wants to date my kid, I want to know if you’re a desperate sexual pervert. If you want to teach in my kid’s public schools, I want to know if you’re a moral degenerate.

The more power I have to keep disgusting filth like johns away from me and my loved ones, the less I am inclined to resort to government doing it for me. The sanction of the government can be much less severe if exposing the truth about johns is much easier. And this is no change in the notion of privacy; it’s always been legal to find out what crimes someone has been convicted of, but the expansion of mega-cities and transportation for some time outstripped the technology to make such research reasonable but all for the gravest of responsibilities. Checking out a single courtroom doesn’t suffice, when you can have spent the evening in any one of many jurisdictions. Now, I can one-stop shop to find out about you.

Is that threatening? Then keep it zipped. Or choose to live in a community where people share your values.

My reason for opposing homosexuality (besides the fact that the Bible forbids it, and I like Biblical moral law) is:

it destroys kids.

Sex causes children. Even with perfectly used birth control, sex causes children. I know, I worked in a CPC for years, half my pregnant clients were using birth control of one type or another when they got pregnant.

The children produced by prostitute sex are either miscarried, aborted, or raised by a whore.

The results are death, death, and madness.

Consider the number of serial killers with whore moms. It’s incredible. To have a whore for a mom is psychological devastation to a child.

Not to mention, no dad in the picture, ever.

You can NOT have sex without consequences. God’s plan is for sex between two married people. It’s for our benefit, not our punishment.

Additionally, it destroys men, bringing out their worst characteristics and destroying their best. A man is at his best when defending women and children, not destroying them.

Finally, the women are generally chewed up messes before they even start this up. Most of them are abuse survivors who are addicted to something. Not all, but most. Yes, they are adults, but they are adults dedicated to destroying themselves as thoroughly as possible. There is a reason that in many countries they have to be literally enslaved to do this to themselves.

Wow.

You are dead on. You need to write a book on this. I’m serious. It’s refreshing to hear a synopsis without the cloud of moral relativism that keeps folks from recognizing (or accepting) how nasty the sex industry is. It would be interesting to cut out that segment for statistical analysis to see what an affiliation does to life span, health care costs, suicide rates etc. It’s not to say that the participants wouldn’t end up somewhere else on the underside of society if they dropped out of the sex industry, but it I’ll warrant it would be an interesting set of demographic results.

It’s a study that will probably never be done. Too non-PC in these enlightened times.
