Manfred Nowak, who serves as a U.N. specialist on torture, said that now that the Obama Administration has released documents admitting that the U.S. government tortured prisoners held at Gitmo, it is obligated under the U.N. Convention against Torture to follow through with prosecution of those complicit in these war crimes.

Obama knew that before he released the memos. That was the plan.

In related news, President Obama asked a federal court to throw out a class action lawsuit by those taken hostage when the US Embassy in Iran was seized in 1979. “We can’t move forward if we insist on holding grudges for events that occurred long ago,” Obama said. “I need a free hand in my dealings with the current government of Iran. The tiny number of aggrieved persons must stand aside for the greater good of the nation.”

I can't believe he said this. We are still processing claims for Holocaust survivors.

It does get harder and harder to determine fact from satire these days.

I can see the headline now: “U.S. officials convicted for using harsh interrogation against killer terrorists”

And were beheadings of people like Nick Berg and Daniel Pearl simply expression of religious freedom by the terrorists, or are those war crimes and crimes against humanity?

We have lost all perspective and critical thinking and judgement here. Maybe some of the interrogations were enhanced, but, compared to beheadings done by the enemy, are they torture? The people who are criticizing the Bush admin. for torture also said that the underwear on the heads of the guys at Abu Grahib was torture.

Before we go any further with any of this, we need to tell the UN to go to hell, and we need to know what the definition of torture is. And we need perspective about things. Considering what happened Sept. 11th, these interrogations don’t seem too extreme at all.

If Bush and Cheney and company are in legal trouble, then Clinton also needs to be in legal trouble. Sudan was going to turn over Bin Laden to us in 1996 or 97, but the Clinton administration turned them down. Clinton needs to be held accountable if Bush is going to be held to account.

“I need a free hand in my dealings with the current government of Iran. The tiny number of aggrieved persons must stand aside for the greater good of the nation.”

Ideology before the rights of individuals. This is classic leftist thinking. Hey, Obama, how about putting restrictions on lawsuits against corporations or doctors. Those lawsuits increase costs for consumers. Why not have the tiny number of aggrieved people filing the lawsuits, and their attorneys, stand aside for the greater good of the nation?

I’m sure the UN is about to condemn Islam for the beheadings...

Any day now...

Obama differs and uses proxies again. Same method his mother used on him for punishment, leaving him raped by muslims.

We’ll think about it after the Commie pigs at the U.N. prosecute their blue-helmeted rapists who rape the women and children that they are supposed to be defending in Africa.
