Limbaugh said a couple of times, “We have to drag this guy over the finish line.” He was very enthusiastic about Palin, but that’s about as much as he could say about McCain. Heck, McCain denounced everyone that endorsed him.

I don’t think the plan is going as the Dems thought when they started this foolishness. Their idea, from looking at Limbaugh’s negatives, was to paint the GOP as being led by this guy with high negatives.

I believe their plan is several-fold.

1 - Label Rush as de facto leader.

2 - Take a quote from almost every show and complain and demand Pubbies to denounce Rush.

3 - Increase Rush's aduience and then ballyhoo about how Levin's localism bill will return "fairness" to the airwaves.

Rush and others will win in the end. If the Dems get every localism board on their side, refuse to renew licenses, it will not stand without a very vocal fight. And in the end, if necessary, Rush and others will go strictly subscription and will combine the cost through a "Conservative Talker Super Pass" or something to that effect. The cost per month would be something quite reasonable, say ten bucks or less a month, the revenue would be divided in some fair manner agreed upon, and the bonus would be downloadable programs for all that can be archived. The archiving is important because it allows listeners not only to go back in time but to also call in and remind a host of a past comment by the host, a liberal etc, ie. the audience becomes a vast research/archives staff.

They won't win because as biased as many libs are they realize that not only would this raise the ire of a huge number of conservatives but, when (yes when) the Pubbies are back in control they will have legitimate right to push the localism laws on the liberal media establishment.

The future fight will involve fighting fire with fire. It is the only way that some people learn the harm of their own ideological tactics.

Sean Hannity took a dem to task tonight over the latest Rush dustup... seems Rush got his comments on Ted Kennedy from stuff democrats in congress have been saying for months... Media Matters really needs to do their homework.

The Dems believe their own press! They thought Limbaugh is widely HATED. He is, by libs that never listen to him!

Anyone that listens to him regularly pretty much likes and/or respects Rush, and 90% of them are not shamed when told “You like Rush! You agree with RUSH LIMBAUGH!” It’s like saying “You like STEAK! You think CLEAN UNDERWEAR is good! Neener Neener!”

Bring it.

The inexperienced Rats running Zero's administration have forgotten that Rush rose to prominence during the Clintoon years. And Bubba ignored Rush, for the most part.

At least the Obambi regime has boosted the fortune of one American!

alright then. In that casse Rush is guilty of knowingly allowing the worst president ever according to his own words into office beause he failed to support the opposition fully.

Zero has not done anything that he already didn’t make his opponents very aware of before he entered office. Why is Rush acting all shocked and awed now?! He knew this would be the consequence.

Ratings?! Fame? Rush knew his show was in a steady slide when GWB was in office and that trend would only continue with Mccain in office. But now that he gets to play mega-villian.

It’s cha-ching baby!

As unemployment grows, more people have time to listen to talk radio, browse the internet, and generally become a little more educated about current events through sources other than the MSM while they’re looking for a job. Stupid move by O and his administration.

Rhetorically Obama constantly lied so there is not so much a shock that he is a diehard socialist but that he has actled so openly and in such a rapid fire fashion. You would think he would have tried to wear the cloak of Centrism a little longer but nope. One can imagine a coming shock but it is never real until...it's real.

As far as Rush went he in no way gave McCain a complete endorsement but he did, as the campaign was being concluded with Palin onboard, highlight the major differences between the flawed McCain and the super-sized-flawed Obama. Don't try blaming Rush for the fault of the media and their collusion/defense of the Dems.

Rush doesn't have the pull to get the left to make him the point of an admitted campaign by Begala, Carville, Emanuel, Obama etc. to label him the defacto leader. And of course Rush is going to do better when the Pubbies are out of power - that's just commonsense.

It sounds like you simply don't like Rush and want to tear him down. Go ahead but it doesn't make your current assessment the truth.

Emanuel, Carville and Begala, all Hillary Butt Boys (as Rush would say_ are just trying to get back at Rush for Operation Chaos not putting in their TRUE president. Obama was dumb enough to give in to Hillary and has stacked his closest advisers with Clinton LEFTovers. Carville and Begala have made alot of money since their days in the Clinton White House and they too are losing tons of money in a lousy stock market. So this may be subversion on their part.

It is hard to believe that Rush is more popular now than he has ever been. He’s always been the grand pooh-bah, but this is ridiculous.

President Obama, you don’t realize what you have unleashed. Unlike George Bush, Rush Limbaugh will fight back with both barrels and and will have a lot of ammuntion in reserve.

Rush Limbaugh WANTS Obama’s agenda to fail.
Dick Armey has concurred; he also WANTS it to fail.

We need NOT hope, want, wish or desire Obama’s agenda to fail. It is a waste of our hopes, wants, wishes, and desires.

It is as if Mr. Limbaugh and Dr. Armey has some latent fear that if enacted, Obama’s agenda might succeed and save our nation, and Limbaugh and Armey couldn’t stand to be proven wrong. This is how it comes across in the minds of liberals.

We should hope for, want, wish, desire, and work for all legislation in Congress preliminary to the enactment of Obama’s agenda to fail.

If Obama’s agenda is enacted, IT WILL FAIL. It can do NOTHING BUT fail. This is what we are failing to articulate. It has nothing at all to do with anyone’s hopes, wants, desires, etc.

History, especially that of Russia, East Europe, China, Southeast Asia, Korea, and Africa is PROOF that the ideology of Obama is a failure. And that history PROVES beyond a shaddow of a doubt (or “beyond all balance of probabilities” as one stupid Canadian judge said this week), that Obama’s plans, if enacted, WILL FAIL, and they WILL destroy our country.

In my opinion, even Mr. Limbaugh is very weak in his efforts to state this correctly, so that the emphasis is improperly on what we WANT or HOPE to happen with Obama’s agenda. The emphasis should be on what we KNOW is CERTAIN to happen because of the very nature of the ideology underlying Obama’s plans, should it be enacted.

Rush said his latest numbers (for January) are through the roof -- six shares in NY, for example. (Excerpt) Read more at dcexaminer.com ...

Time for Rush to get a TV slot-----just simulcast his radio show on TV. More and more people are tuning in---but even more wait with baited breath for Rush's latest pronouncements about the idiots in the WH who were foolish enough to take him on.

COS Rahm Emanuel is behind the bash Rush initiative.

Emanuel lacerated Limbaugh on CBS Sunday morning show---Face the Nation. Emanuel's interview had Bob Scheiffer valiantly swimming against a tide of lies spewing out of Rahm Emanuel's double-talking mouth (March 1 broadcast).

Question after question, Emanuel stuck to his lies ---and cruelly refused to give Scheiffer a lifeline.

It is appalling that this individual---Emanuel---is making US policy.

If President Obama wants credibility as he undertakes a massive restructuring of the US economy, ASAP he should dump Emanuel-----this pitiless master of agitation and propaganda.

We have a cunning calculating little jerk running our WH. Rahm Emanuel's statements to Bob Scheiffer were a pack of lies.

Share your views with Face the Nation. EMAIL ftn@CBSnews.com

What evidence do you have that Rush's ratings have been sliding? I myself do not listen to the actual show every day because I work, but, if I am in my office or in the car, my radio is ALWAYS tuned to Rush's show. Now that Rush has his website (and I am a 24-7 member), you can listen to the entire show online or via pod cast. I also get an email every day highlighting the show with links to the website if I want to hear any part of it again.

You are deluding yourself if you think that his popularity depends on who is POTUS. His show is always entertaining and informative - even when he is not there and a substitute is covering for him. We LOVE Rush, but we love his CONSERVATIVE ideas more! BTW, I am a well-educated fifty-something woman who has been teaching in a community college for over 25 years.
