Yes, i used a search engine. I see where they built a plant, but you made a claim they hoisted a communist flag at their headquarters, i can’t fins anything to go along with your claim, and I can’t find where anybody protested it.
If this were true, it surely would be easir to find something to help back up your claim.
I’ve read doezens of your wild assertions in the past that you just can’t seem to back up, and this is another wild one, of which there just seems to be no evidence.
Work with me here, so I can agree with you, and you won’t look like a liar.
I AM searching, and finding nothing to back you up.
My Ford has been great. If my finances improve, I’ll definitely consider buying another.
My last three cars have been Nissans, and they’ve been very good cars. I’ve never owned a Ford, Chevy, Chrysler, etc. in my life, and never will.
Okay, genius
Here is a letter from 1998 from:
John W. Spelich
Director, Global News
Ford Motor Company
> The Ford Motor Company World Headquarters building in Dearborn,
> Michigan, has two major flag displays. The first is a
> 70-foot-tall single flagpole that holds the American flag. A
> second display, which lines the circular office driveway, contains
> 42 40-foot-tall flagpoles. Using various national flags, these
> poles form a graphic display of the countries in which Ford either
> has a manufacturing investment, or a significant sales presence.
> The American flag is part of that display. In 1995, the United
> States normalized relations with Vietnam and opened an embassy in
> Hanoi. In late 1997, and consistent with U.S. policy toward
> Vietnam, we opened a small assembly plant in Vietnam to produce
> trucks for sale in that market. As a result, the flag of the
> nation of Vietnam is part of Ford’s World Headquarters display.
>
> Earlier this week, we received a fair amount of comments from
> customers and others via telephone and e-mail inquiring about our
> flag displays, wondering about the configuration of our flag
> display and asking why the American and Vietnamese flags were
> adjacent to one another. After reviewing flag etiquette rules, we
> determined that we had made an error in placing the American flag
> on poles at both ends of the horseshoe shaped drive.
>
> The intent was to place the American flag in a primary position,
> and then have the flags of our other markets follow in
> alphabetical order, ending with Venezuela and Vietnam. We elected
> to end this display with another American flag, which is why the
> American flag was adjacent to the Vietnamese flag — not the Viet
> Cong flag, as was suggested in several of the e-mail notes.
>
> According to the laws governing a display of this type, we should
> have flown only one American flag instead of two. As such, we are
> moving immediately to reconfigure our flag display to ensure it
> conforms with flag etiquette.
>
> From now on, the American flag in our driveway display will be in
> the proper location in the row, to the left as the building is
> viewed from the street. Starting with the flag of Argentina, our
> other markets will follow in alphabetical order in the row, ending
> in Vietnam.
>
> We are leaving the American flag on the larger single flagpole in
> place. We want to thank everyone who called this issue to our
> attention.
>
> As a separate issue, Ford Motor Company has supported financially,
> and plans to continue to support, many veteran-related causes,
> including the Disabled American Veterans. In 1986, Ford paid to
> inscribe the names of 108 Americans killed during the war onto the
> wall of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. These
> names had been omitted when the wall was dedicated in 1982.
>
> Sincerely,
>

You owe me an apology!
So basically what we’ve learned here is that every single auto company, foreign and domestic, sucks for one reason or another and I need to build my next truck from a kit. Game on.
Any chance I can find anything onthe internet? I’ve used just about every search string possible, and 4 different search engines, going back 3-4 pages for each search, and still don’t see anything.
Apologize for what? You made the claim, all I am doing is asking you to back it up.
By the way, I hope you don’t like shrimp, because I would be willing to bet the shrimp you consumed came from Viet Nam.
I’ve owned fords, GM cars, Toyota’s, a saturn, a honda, and pretty much, none of them were crappy cars unless I mistreated them.
Of all the cars I’ve owned, the only ones to hit 300,000 miles were fords (2 of them).
“Apologize for what?”
“well, i just don’t believe you”
“you wont look like a liar.”
It figures, you wouldn’t have the class to say, “Hey, you were right, my mistake”
Show me how you were right, I STILL can’t find anything that would indicate this should be any more of an issue than it is that schools show the USSR or chinese flags.
My dad and all my uncles are all VN vets, i don’t recall any of them ever saying anything, and about half of them drive Fords daily.
I’ve never seen you admit your mistakes when you’ve clearly been shown to be wrong.
The real question: "Is buying From Communists or Buying from Unions really any different?
Talk about classy, geeez, all I did was ask you to back up an assertion. Looks like I was right all along.
Your “monkey crap” posting style is interesting, though. Whip crap up against the screen, and hope it sticks. Very interesting.
In any case, thanks for your service!
NO, YOU WERE WRONG ALL ALONG, PUNK AND I POSTED THE PROOF SO “F” OFF!
Uh, no, you have not backed up your assertion. Funny, you have to resort to personal stuff, when all i asked was for some evidence something you claimed as true, and it’s just not there.
I’d expect an apology from most people who have dones as you did, but I know your type well enough to know it’s not coming.
I wish you had been able to back up your claim, I’d join you in protest, but there’s just no evidence to back up your claim. You even resorted to personal crap.
I win.
“Uh, no, you have not backed up your assertion”
I just posted the documented FACTS from FORD that FORD built a plant in Viet Nam and the FACT from FORD that FORD was flying the Viet Nam flag at corporate... if you can’t comprehend simple English, get someone to read and explain the posts for you!
gezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
and then maybe you could get an adult to teach you how to say “You were correct about the Viet Nam flag flying at Ford Corporate headquarters”
Now, I’ve wasted enough time with you.
Class Dismissed
How is this any different than businesses doing business with japan, Korea, or Germany?
GM has plants in Vietnam, Chrysler was owned by the germans, and pretty much every other car manufacturer is in once-enemy countries, so what’s a guy to do.
Still can’t find anything about protests. I evencalled 2 of my Vietnam Vet uncles about this, and it’s the first they’ve heard of it, and they are very active politically.
