What proof is there that Paulson and Bernanke were telling the truth about anything? How do we know there really was such a thing as a "$550 billion" run? The only way to prove it is to produce a list showing company/bank/fund names, times, and amounts. Until we see that and can verify the (at least statistical) plausibility of such a list, it could just as well be an invented number, create for the specific purpose of forcing Congress to pass the un-Constitutional TARP bill.
