Is anyone in the US not getting health care?
It varies by state.

This is for NC where I live. Your state might be different. And I doubt any state has an age limit of 28. Where did you hear that?
That’s a pretty broad question. I have no idea how you would find out. My guess would be yes.
I don’t think anyone, even an obvious illegal immigrant would be turned away at almost any hospital. Isn’t there some law that says they have to accept all comers regardless of ability to pay?
From my understanding, private hospitals don’t have to accept those who cannot pay. And individual doctors certainly don’t have to accept them, which is their right. Unless they are gay, then they probably have to.
There must be some way, recent trip to a local Dr.’s clinic and it was FULL of folks on the freeby. When I read the paperwork they wanted me to fill out, I asked if this was a free clinic, they said no, but they have lots of GOV paid patients. I dumped the papers and left.
You may be right about PRIVATE hospitals, but with all the GOV money they take, am doubting many turn anyone away. There are always big freeby hospitals like Parkland.
Hawaii Ending Universal Child Health Care After 7 Mos.
Friday, October 17, 2008 | FoxNews.com
E-Mail Print Share HONOLULU Hawaii is dropping the only state universal child health care program in the country just seven months after it launched.
Gov. Linda Lingle’s administration cited budget shortfalls and other available health care options for eliminating funding for the program. A state official said families were dropping private coverage so their children would be eligible for the subsidized plan.
“People who were already able to afford health care began to stop paying for it so they could get it for free,” said Dr. Kenny Fink, the administrator for Med-QUEST at the Department of Human Services. “I don’t believe that was the intent of the program.”

I'll drink to that.
IIRC, some of the "children" covered by this S-CHIP expansion will actually be young adults.
“What do you propose to make sure children get health care?”
Responsible parenting.
And when the respnsible parents lose their jobsand health insurance? Tough, right? Compassionate conservatism, LOL.
Responsible people would have an emergency fund that could cover health insurance payments. I would also suggest that everyone get into an HSA. Living paycheck to paycheck is as irresponsible as the current congress. In addition, they would also get out there and deliver pizzas as a stop gap.
In full disclosure, I’m not there yet, but I am working very hard to become debt free and have an emergency fund in place. While my co-workers go out to lunch, buy new cars, buy new furniture and sit around complaining that Obama hasn’t sent them their checks yet, I am paying off debt at a rate of $50K the last 2 years.
So, very soon I will have no debt, except my mortgage and I will have an emergency fund that will cover expenses for 6 months. This “downturn” hasn’t touched me and it hasn’t even interrupted my personal financial peace.
Congratulations. Hope you don’t lose your job.
