“I agree with a lot of what Rush says, but the fact that he’s been married 3x does not sit well with me as a conservative and a Catholic.”

Is Rush a Catholic? If not, what do your rules mean to him? It would be like a soccer player getting angry that the basketball player is using his hands.

If he were polygamous or married to a man would that be irrelevant?

I don’t like Rush’s chances of staying out of Club Gitmo

You think such marxist move would indeed be the tipping point?

Just now Rush is on CNBC with the fatass commentator acting like a smug lib ass butting in trying to say “We Won, that trumps you!”, finally the stupe realized he was out of his league and shut up.

“If he were polygamous or married to a man would that be irrelevant?”

You equate polygamy and perversion with divorce?

Wow.

I imagine that this Congressman who called Rush to apologize had been severely burned by his constituency...

The guy said he knew Rush had many millions of listeners, and that he had heard from quite a few of them. ;-)

You basically said Rush wasn't bound by my values, he's not a soccer player, or whatever. So why should he be bound by the values of someone who doesn't believe in polygamy or homosexual marriage? IOW, why should he, or anyone, be bound by what might be your values? Where does the line get drawn? Who draws it? The law? According to law, abortion's ok! And in some states homosexual marriage and adoption are ok!

Divorce was once looked down upon, too. Then our psychologist friends said, hey, it's better if the parents are happy, the kids are happier. Really? These same psychologists now tell us gay is normal.

I don't dislike divorced people, for pity's sake, I know too many of them. And I see what it's done to their families. Usually not anything good.

It is kind of like the problem with abortion - on an individual level, each case is unique, and you can see why that individual might want it. But when you see what it does to society as a whole (and of course to the baby) -- there just has to be a better way.'Til death do us part doesn't mean enough anymore. The great breakdown of our society began in the home. It might not be PC to say it, but I thought PC was for liberals! Not too many years ago, people could sue for alienation of affection and name a spouse's lover as co-respondent.

I wouldn't be so hard on Rush, but I also don't care for his stance on 'Feminism was created so unattractive women could have a shot at the goodies pretty women get through marriage.' Do you think THAT is a kind and tolerant viewpoint?

Every syllable out of Rush's mouth is judgmental, but I can't have an opinion? Okay.

“Then our psychologist friends said, hey, it’s better if the parents are happy”

No WAY! It’s so obvious that it is better to raise children in a horibbly unhappy home than in a happy one.

“I don’t dislike divorced people, for pity’s sake, I know too many of them. And I see what it’s done to their families. Usually not anything good.”

Usually when a couple divorces, the marriage is beyond saving. Be it abuse, adultery or addiction, somethings become to much for both partners to even WANT to save the marriage.

“I wouldn’t be so hard on Rush, but I also don’t care for his stance on ‘Feminism was created so unattractive women could have a shot at the goodies pretty women get through marriage.’ Do you think THAT is a kind and tolerant viewpoint?”

I think that there is some truth to what Rush ACTUALLY said; “Feminism was established in order to give ugly women access to the mainstream of society.” I also find it somewhat funny. Then again I am not an ugly woman so my opinion and $3.00 will get you a cup of coffee.

“Do you think THAT is a kind and tolerant viewpoint?”

I don’t give a rip if it is tolerant or not. What I don’t care for is picking one issue from a persons’ life and basically denigrating their life experience or dismissing anything that they have to say because of it. Did you know that there are some very intelligent gay people in the world? Gay people that have a lot to offer in areas having NOTHING whatsoever to do with their sickness. I’m just saying do not be so quick to judge people based on one thing in their life that YOU don’t care for.

I got your FReepmail and I agree with what you said in it. Reading some of your posting history, we actually agree on a LOT. I imagine if you read mine, you might feel the same.

I am divorced. I did everything I could to keep that marriage together but when only one partner is trying, it simply will not work. Does my divorce mean that anything that I have to say should simply be dismissed?

No, I don’t have to wonder at all. Some people have loving hearts and they just love the wrong person(s).
