McCarthy said there was a list of people who's clearances should be investigated b/c their loyalties weren't clear.

Oh, that's was all it was? I thought it was a kangaroo court designed to parade regular citizens in front of the country and to destroy their careers because someone was forced to give up names of accused "communists." And the mere accusation got you blacklisted and a lot of non-communists had to live with that label as well.

I hate communism. One of the aspects of communism I hate the most is that competing political philosophy is banned by law and those who don't believe in communism are punished or killed. If you're asking me to support doing something similar here in America, no thanks.

No, but Michelle Malkin has done a pretty good job of it.

Obama: What does it matter? The American people don’t care—the American people don’t even care if I am a natural born citizen. Now get off the WH lawn.

.YES but we should start with their apologists first

Are you accusing me of being a communist "apologist?"

You certainly sound like one, if you are unable to understand the mortal threat that communism posed to the existence of this country at that time.

Lets see now...Julius and Ethel were innocent and all great or talented people throughout history were homosexuals. OK, now I got it.

What should we do with socialists? Should they all be killed as well? How about racists? I don't like racists. Should we kill them? And telemarketers. Let's not forget telemarketers.

And DEFINITELY any person so twisted as to actually be a dual musical fan of Soundgarden AND Sinatra.

The poster advocated the killing of apologists. Should I be killed?

It's fairly comical to call me a communist. On a political quiz, I'm the polar opposite of a communist authoritarian.

Not all spies and traitors get fried ~ never have. Some who commit particularly egregious crimes, e.g. steal atom bomb secrets, get fried.

Personally I think that the ones who don't get fried should be given up for public torture every third year for at least one day.

Hey, now. Sometimes you feel like "One more for the Road," and some days are more "Slaves and Bulldozers." It's become something of an Ipod world lately. However, we could kill those with Ipods while we're mowing down commies, apologists, and crooner/grunger fans. I prefer vinyl anyway.

What “authoritarian witch hunt”? Sure, there was a search for “authoritarians” and “totalitarians” doing the bidding of foreign dictators, but witches? Nobody said any of these people were witches, just Commies!

OK, then, telemarketers (we need merely bomb the Malabar Coast), THEN the Socialists, but only after suitible torture ~ like forcing them to watch Bill Gates cash a check and stick his own money in his own pockets.

I pegged you a cruel character right off the bat, but that right there is sinister.

Actually, the “kill them all comment” was just in regard to communists...but it did morph into apologists - so you may have a point.

As to killing communists, that is what our Constitution calls for (indirectly, via Treason), so I certainly support that.

The Rosenbergs were Communist chump change compared to what we will have in the White House, and leading Congress. The world leftists finally figured out that spies are not nearly as affective as getting their people into political power. Treason from on high will ruin us.

I hate communism. One of the aspects of communism I hate the most is that competing political philosophy is banned by law and those who don't believe in communism are punished or killed. If you're asking me to support doing something similar here in America, no thanks.

You are confusing two totally different things. It is one thing for people to be free to believe in whatever ideology they want, and to do so openly. That is the freedom we have here, and the Communist Party existed before, during and after the McCarthy days, without any interference from the government (although I'm sure they were being watched at some point by the FBI). It is quite another thing to be an agent of a hostile foreign power and hide your own belief system in order to achieve positions in government that allow you to advance that foreign power's agenda in direct contrast to your own country's agenda. That is what McCarthy warned against, and those types of people were the ones he sought (and found).

I think you also may be confusing Senator McCarthy with the House Un-American Activities Committee, of which McCarthy had no part. MCarthy sought Soviet moles in the US government, and found them. HUAC went a little further and called out some non-governmental people, such as Hollywood types. As far as I know, though, none of those actors were actually arrested. Their careers were merely hurt because the Hollywood bigshots feared that no American would go to a movie with a known communist in it.

A country has to be able to defend itself from hostile people. Period. That includes spies and saboteurs. To suggest otherwise is asinine. To suggest that the concept of "freedom" prohibits the ability to act in your own defense and self interest is ridiculous.

McCarthy was right. And we need another McCarthy. But first, we need to revive real patriotism and contempt for the evil that is communism.

We already have one. Her name is Ann Coulter. Read her books and understand that people who defend Joe McCarthy are not crazy. It is the grasp of the extent of leftist activity in the United States that makes people shrill.
