My picks:
1) Stay Governor
2) 2012
Agreed. Governors are historical presidential winners, the Senate tends to muddy one’s record with compromise votes, and she has the benefit of being well known, unlike a lot of other governors (Bill Clinton, Jimmah Carter).
Stay put and crush Barry in 2012.
Stay as Governor - keep her name in the news - 2012.
She’s got the other advantage of being a popular Governor who will probably get even more popular while Barry blots his copybook during the next four years.
One thing Sarah may wish to consider doing is working on her Machine: particularly the fundraising bits. His Excellency has that down to a fine science: he bought this election. That mustn’t be allowed to happen in 2012.
1. Run for re-election as Governor in 2010.
2. Consider run against Obama in 2012 or take on Begich in 2014.
> Fact remains, when faced with a couple of pinhead network hacks she pulled a moose-in-the-headlights. Blinked, folded, failed.
So she needs some media training. She has four years to brush up on that. So the take-away lesson from all that is that someone must ensure she does this as a part of her preparation. Which should start tomorrow.
“1) Stay Governor
2) 2012”
I agree. The Senate would be a downgrade for someone of her caliber. She’s executive quality — her talents would be wasted in the Senate.
“So she needs some media training”
Absolutely. When I was still on active duty with the Air Force, I helped provide media training to our senior leaders. It was clear she was never properly prepared. With polish and practice, she’ll be fine. Remember, she got a LOT better as the campaign closed out, and let’s not forget that great debate performance, too. Contrary to lame-stream media pundits, she dusted the floor with Biden and he knew it by night’s end, too.
I’m debating this.
As governor she’s in Alaska. As Senator she’s in DC and Alaska. DC puts her on the national stage where she can be a royal pain to Emperor Zero and his minions. Moreover, she can officially denounce, and vote against, the acts of our new socialist party.
She’s in the game either way. As a senator, she’s more visible and will have her experience as gov, and Obama’s experience as Senator.
I say, go for the Senate....if you want to go to the swamp.
I became a fan of Palin’s when she filed suit against the EPA for their polar bear ruling. She fought Stevens.
OK, her media exposure is weaker than necessary in today’s TV politics. You stick with that.
I’ll stick with principle.
No.
She must stay Governor!!! The Senate is poison!
Stay away from D.C. for now, Sarah, your day will come.
Sarah's best move is to stay as Governor, and continue blazing the trail she started three years ago.
> Agreed. And with the prospects of Caroline Kennedy heading to the Senate, all it would be for the next four years is Kennedy v. Palin.
Yup. And tho’ it would be an unfair fight, it would resemble a mud-wrestling match: and you can’t win one of those without getting dirty.
(Actually, I’d pay good money to see that...!)
No, Kennedy vs Palin would be an unwanted distraction. Sarah is best to keep her powder dry and prepare for 2012. It will come soon enough.
We have had twenty years of ivy league educated presidents who have collectively managed to
run this country into the ground.
Many of us think it's time to try a different approach.
How is she uninformed? What the media claims has turned out to be BS. Uninformed are those who buy the MSM terror campaign against her. Your tirade is tiresome.
