We don't know what, if any, bail out will occur, whether or not it will be a loan or simply a handout or nothing at all. Until the day when GM and the other auto manufacturers are no longer publicly held, but instead are owned by the government, they are certainly entitled to seek the same privacy protection enjoyed by any other corporate or private citizen.
While I share your dislike for GM, I don't share the class envy others seem to have. Most cannot get beyond it and see whether or not a corporate aircraft makes sense for a particular company's needs or if it is simply a luxury.
If a company needs its executives to travel, especially if for long distances and overseas, corporate aircraft are a much smarter use of funds than flying commercial. Moreover, they hold their value very well, often better than other assets a company might use. You may not like that for your own personal reasons, but it is true none the less.

I wholeheartedly agree with your post.
They aren't just living "high on the hog". It's part of their business and how it runs.
What's being displayed on this thread is class envy, pure and simple. By FReepers, no less.

I agree. GM, F and Chrysler wants to be exempt from free market forces.
