I think you’re wrong to tie this to the “Bush Administration.” First of all, background investigations are not required to run for Congress, to the best of my knowledge, or to hold office. Second, if someone is given classified information without having a clearance, fault lies not with George Bush but the facility clearance officer, who is responsible for badging anyone in his facility, and the person providing the information, who is obligated to re-establish clearance level and also “need-to-know.”
Very true, and money can buy security clearances.
Money can even speed them up. Top-secret clearance takes a year to get when doing something within the Department of Defense.
Everything has a price, that is the problem with this country and the world. Money trumps integrity.
It’s why Obama can slide on past laws and get unlimited amounts of foreign donations and not be audited.
This election was bought and paid for. Now it’s up to the Supreme Court not to knowtow to those who put Obama where he is.
And, just so that I understand, what was the point of your prior post regarding all of the Clinton administration security clearance poo-pooing? Apparently I misunderstood and would appreciate some clarification.
I agree that no administration is going to investigate anyone because they were running for congress. However, once someone is in the congress, the administration better get them cleared before them give them sensitive information. If information can be had more easily than that, like I said ... we have got bigger problems.
