I know a lot of people who fought in WW2 and none of them really wanted to go kill anybody. I’ve seen lots of people killed in the service of this country and I’d go through it all again if I had to.
There is a world of difference between fulfilling the solemn duties of citizenship and looking forward to seeing fellow Americans killed.
Your comparison is careless at best.

Actually, it sounds like you agree with my comparison. I'm saying that, just like your acquaintances who participated in WWII, a lot of people don't want to shoot people, but they want to protect this country. Their desire to see the enemies of the USA put down is greater than their abhorrence of shooting people. We have outright anti-American organizations which are doing their best to destroy this country and, before it is allowed to fall, many would like the chance to defend it.

Maybe so. But at the end of the day I’m locked and loaded and ready to go. As I recall, my oath, all those many years ago, was to defend the country against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
As long as I’m breathing that oath is still in effect. Let’s just hope it doesn’t get as bad as we fear. Keep your powder dry Dude.

Another DU troll! Your lame namecalling just shows that you know you don't have a leg to stand on in this argument.

Theres a big difference in reluctantly having to defend your home and family and looking forward to shooting someone. Absolutely. The glee that some people on this thread seem to be taking in the possibility of having to shoot fellow Americans is disturbing. There are some people with serious problems out there. Though, I'm sure most of these guys fall into the internet keyboard commando category. They'd probably wet themselves if confronted with a dangerous situation.
And their resorting to insults when called on their BS is just sad and makes them look childish.

Dittos Citizen.
Just a passing thought... have any of the folks that are stocking up on ammo thought of putting in a serious supply of medical gear. Ammo and bandages. One follows the other.

... if there is a civil war, the good people will take back the country and we will be sound again. Im waiting to see what happens as most leftists dont beleive in guns or have them, and if they do, they probably wont know how to use them. Exactly.
What morons these old, washed up, used up, '60s liberals. They don't even believe in freakin' guns.
If civil war is what she wants, bring it, honey. She is so clueless. We do not seek war, but we will no shrink from it.
