I know you were kidding in your post. There used to be a time when anyone could push ‘abuse’ anonymously and there was a ‘clique’ of women who would go after someone, ping in their friends and get someone banned.
I watched it happen and was astounded and upset by it.
Thankfully now, if you were to push abuse, you have to describe the abuse and your Fr-name is included.
I have never pushed abuse on anyone.

"
Its Jims house and were guests. The owner of the house can ask guests to leave at any time for any reason." Does one run a "FReepathon" to invite their guests to pay the utility bills? I think that the structure here is a bit different than you imagine. And in Jim's defense, its pretty rare for Jim to permanently ban someone without good reason.

“50 years from now, if FR is to be more than a passing fancy, shouldn’t there be more than appealing to Jim?.”
LOL! Who cares what FR is 50 years from now!

The membership in FR are not investors, we don’t buy shares. We contribute but are not required to do so in order to register and post .
Shareholders in a publically held company get a vote..Contributors to a privately held news forum do not..
Jim’s house..his rules...I have always understood this.

[I have done it to myself ]
Ahh, I forgot about that raybbr! Several times, over the years, I have accidentally posted a ‘private’ reply on the forum and asked to have them removed.
So I HAVE hit abuse - on myself too, lol!

I suggest an appeals board consisting of long-term FReepers with differing views.Maybe Justice Kennedy will author a 5-4 decision overriding JimRob's rules for FR.
