I believe Kennedy Space Center is in central Florida, don’t they do something of note there?

As a matter of fact I do know what I am talking about. Majority of my patients from Florida who are on Medicaid or receive any type of government assistance are from Central and North Florida. These are true numbers and not coincidences. Clearly I was referring to the non-working twits.

Everyone who receives Medicaid is an illiterate twit? Hopefully I can broaden your understanding a little.

My grandmother who worked her entire life is now retired and on Medicaid. She was born on a humble farm in North Florida near the Georgia line in Macclenny. The farm had been in our family since long before the civil war. My great grandmother had 13 kids in all. They did not have slaves, but did all of the work themselves. The family eventually had to sell the farm in the 1930's during the depression.

My grandmother had to work to help support the family and did not complete high school. Even with this impediment, her literacy level is surprisingly high; although she has not been able to read for the past 15 years now since she went blind due to untreated glaucoma. She spent the majority of her life doing honest labor in sewing factories and other similar jobs to support not only her own children but my great grandmother who was bed ridden for the last 20 years of her life. My gradmother and her family did not always have the nicest clothes or the finest materials things but they could always count on food on the table and a house filled with love thanks to her.

It is not uncommon for people of my parents generation to have to quit school to support the family especially here in the south. So it was with my father and Aunt, both of whom had to quit in the 9th grade to take jobs. They spent their lives working various blue collar jobs to survive and raise their families. My generation was the first to graduate high school with me being the first ever in my family to graduate from college and earn a degree. It took a lot of sacrifice on the part of a lot of people to get me where I am today and I credit a lot of it to my grandmother who was always there to help us all.

My grandmother is now in her mid 80's and lives with my Aunt in Lake City. After sacrificing her whole life to help everyone else around her, she hates the idea that she might be a burden to her family. Her pride does not allow her to let others pay her bills for her directly. Instead, she accepts Medicaid in order to get the pills she needs to live.

I wish I could say that her story is an anomaly, but North Florida is filled with people whose stories are very similar to hers and my parents. I'll bet they would be surprsied to find that their doctors and care givers are calling them twits behind their backs.

Perhaps you should re-evaluate why you are in the medical profession, compassion or understanding is clearly not your strong suit.

A very similar discussion had come up between my son and some of his friends about the nature of things here in North and Central Florida. I told him that Florida was home to some of the greatest things known to man and reminded him of the Space Center.

Thanks, I’m a long time fan of the space program. I have worked at KSC for 25 years now and hope to be involved into the next vehicle’s program.

I live just down the road from KSC, what part of Florida are you in?

I believe you are taking this way out context and changing it into a personal issue. And one short advise, abstain yourself from Psych 101 evaluation, you know nothing of my background nor my practice.

I find it troubling dealing with working patients with serious illnesses who refuse to stop working because they cannot afford to be disabled and see instead able bodies hiding behind some pseudo-disability and demanding the moon. All it takes today is a good lawyer and voila, disability approved. This is so easy making it in turns, for the ones who really need it, due to this abuse, much more difficult to qualify.

Everyone who receives Medicaid is an illiterate twit?

Would you also like to point out where have I said that everyone who receives Medicaid is an illiterate twit? Take a chill pill, dude. Other than that your grandma is prime example of people choosing to be independent, provide for their family . She is definitely someone who earned the Medicaid benefits however she is the exception to the rule. There are very few like her in today's world where most Medicaid recipients have not worked a day in their lives, have lots of children out of wedlock with different men and you see 3 generations walking into a medical center (grandmother, mother and granddaughter - herself holding a new baby) because it's what has become the norm and they believe they are entitled. And again, unfortunately, the largest percentage are from mostly Central and North Florida. Numbers do not lie.

Clearly you are another one reading in between the lines... The key word was "non-working"....

There was no “reading between the lines”, you said...

“For too long West Palm Beach, Broward (Ft Lauderdale) and Dade (Miami) have been supporting the state financially while central and north, infested with mostly illiterate twits have been reaping the welfare benefits while producing nothing.”

I was responding to the “mostly illiterate twits” “producing nothing”.

I have reread your post and fail to find the “key word” “nonworking”.
