you know - a nice bushmaster .223 sounds fun
I'll say this though, my last gun purchase was a Mosin-Nagant M44 (Commie Russia Surplus!). WHOOEEEE what a cannon! That friggin' 7.62x54R bullet is no joke! Best of all, the rifle only cost me $50!!!
Can't beat that!
A cheap Chinese assault rifle and a couple cartons of Indian Reservation Kools for me.
i saw those at the last show I was at - LOL - great “beater” gun - no worrys about scratches etc
Yeah, the Mosins are beaters, and mine came at me in “battlefield condition,” meaning that after a fight, they just grabbed every gun and slapped together a Frankenstein out of whatever parts worked.
However at the last show I went to, they had some nioce Mosins that were unissued, numbers matching and in pristine condition. $115 for the 91/30’s and $105 for the M44’s.
Gotta say this though, my beater is a damn straight shooter and a pile of fun to hit the range with. Gonna take it to the 100 yard range next week...
You got one for $50??? I thought I was getting a deal at $100. But, did you get the cool little battlepack with the itsy bitsy tools and oil can? AND the hundred rounds thrown in?
That’s a negative on the accessories and ammo. My buddy has a C&R license and Centerfire Systems ran a deal: 5 for $200+ shipping.
We couldn’t pass that up.
I’ll get the gear from CFS some other time. I think it’s like $20 or something.
As for the ammo, got a dude that goes to the gun shows selling surplus military ammo. Was looking initially at a steel spamcan of 300 rounds for $56, but instead went with a slightly better Czec ammo for 200 rounds at $40.
No regrets comrade!
This is what I’m looking at:

What do you guys think? I’m on an “evil” assault rifle binge now.
Can I get a made in the USA 1911A1 government model for less than 600 dollars?
Just a heads-up for your buddy's sake...BATFE frowns on using C&Rs to purchase with intent to resell. Not saying that's what he's doing; I'd just hate for a fellow C&R'er to get any undue attention.
I’m taking my Mosin to the range for the first time today.
Here’s my post from yesterday:

It would probably be a bad thing if he was doing it for profit. He’s not.
Plus, we filled out all the requisite paperwork for the thing for transfer of ownership to yours truly.
How is spending money on a foreign made rifle keeping it here in the USA? At least go for a Enfield Mark III or IV, its an Allied rifle, it fires a big 308 round and you don’t have to reload it as much as a Mosin. Springfields are great too, but they cost more than the rebate. Then of course there are those pristine Carcanos, never fired, only dropped twice, and your rebate can supply a platoon with them.
Read the comic dude.
I got the Mosin 3 weeks ago with my non-stimulus paycheck.
Actually, my M44 came in near perfect condition from the Tula arsenal. I have no plans to scratch it. Just finished checking the headspace but haven’t had it at the range yet.
I’m using mine to pay for a fraction of my house tax.
It's great being debt free, we can buy the little things that make life so enjoyable - guns and ammo. :)
Hahaha, wait till you fire that lil sucker at night!
I prefer the M-91s though, that looong sight radius makes
them very accurate.
I’m debt free but taxes are killing me.
