Stuart Rothenberg who wrote this article is in the pocket of the Dem Party. This is the dumbest suggestion I’ve heard yet. This would give us two tax and spend liberals on the GOP ticket. What is this country coming too?? Why wont a real Consverative step forward?? Does anyone care about this country. All I want is a President who will 1. Protect our borders, 2. Lower this awful tax burden 3. Ease up on environmental laws 4. Protect Life. How much is that too ask for. Lieberman is the opposite of all of these things.

Well it looks like there are some people on here who buy into that liberal hack, Stu Rothenberg’s ideas. We can have two tax and spend liberals on the GOP ticket now. How exciting is that?

There are already three Democrats in the race, do we really have to make it four.

And who should the Dims pick. It certainly won’t be a conservative.

Is there any plausible scenario wherein McCain gets dumped at the convention and the Republican Party gets to have a Republican candidate?

There is if any those listed here - here - here - here- here - here - here - or here -
have anything to say about it!

Why wont a real Consverative step forward??

Welcome to FreeRepublic.

You may not have noticed, since there was a complete black out, including by the so-called "conservative" talkers, but there were 4 real conservatives that stepped forward and got stepped on!

Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo, Alan Keyes and Sam Brownback (altho an OBL guy) were in the presidential race. Don't feel bad if you were unaware since the GOP/DNC/RNC/Enemedia cabal refused to whisper their names.

“There is, however, somebody who would fill that bill and therefore be a near-perfect pick for McCain: Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman.”

Well if that doesn’t shore up McBoobs’ right flank, I don’t know what would!

(sarcasm)

Condi Rice.
Heads would vaporize.

I think she'd be a fine choice, the only problem is she's smart enough to know that she doesn't want the job. I respect that and wish her luck in her post political job search. (NFL commish?? that'd be a hoot!)

Regards,
GtG

He would be fine, but it would be seen as just putting up a black guy against a black guy.

The probable answer is that a substantial segment of the electorate is shifting from conservative values to moderate values.

Yep, McCain will need Lieberman to whisper answers to him and make sure he gets right the orders from his handlers. Two clowns!
