I will be voting for McCain if he is nominated because the alternative is worse.

I can find not one reason to vote for McCain and many reasons to vote against him. His nomination was designed to rid the GOP of Conservatives and to push amnesty. He is no different for Hillary and Obama. Maybe he is not the Manchurian Candidate - I do not know, but his mental state is unraveling.

I will not be responsible for a Clinton or Obama Presidency in 2008 when Democrats control the House and Senate.
I will use my vote effectively to prevent it even if I fail. I will have a clear conscience.

One small challenge is that there aren’t enough open, competitive seats to swing the House or the Senate- thus, you won’t have the buffer to keep Hilldog or Osama in check, instead, you’ll have the Legislative and Executive writing each other blank checks, so to speak.

At this time, 58.4% of FReeRepublic Members will be voting for McCain if he is nominated. If 1/5th of the FReepers who say they won't vote for him are reflected in the rest of the electorate, the Dim wins with over 300 electoral votes. (I'm part of that group. The system sure set us up to bomb this time.)

I think that’s one thing that all of us can agree on.
Whether Freepers decide to vote for McCain next November or not, we can all do our best to support conservative candidates at the state and local levels, and especially in congress. Do not donate to the RNC. Donate to your candidates if they are worth supporting, or to candidates in other states, who need your money and will make good use of it.
And see what you can do personally to get out the vote for any candidates who really deserve our support.
Also, keep in mind that no matter how many Freepers decide to bite their tongues and vote for that backstabber McCain, millions will still stay home. Try to persuade some of them to at least get out and vote ib the other lines of the ballot. Don’t punish the good guys for the sins of the bad guys.
Personally, I will not vote for McCain. Never. But I do plan to vote for the other candidates on the ballot.
And as I’ve said before, this is the FIRST time I’ve done this in a national election. I’ve never voted third party for president, I’ve always voted Republican every four years.
But as far as I’m concerned, this time there is no choice. McCain would be worse than a Democrat victory, for good reasons we have all seen stated here so many times, I won’t repeat them.

This must be from a Democrat operative. I suppose a few will continue to try and inflame.......be smart, don’t buy it.

And the other 41.6 would elect Obama or Hillary.....now THAT makes a whole lot of sense for the “conservative” agenda. ah...duh?
