Can Rush save Fred is the better question.

Fred was all but ignored by the media. I hope he don’t quit. He’s the only one running who will not destroy the country.

There’s nothing to prevent everybody from just carrying on like Fred is going to win. What difference does it make if he’s in or out?

No. The real question is will SC conservatives defend their state from the carpetbaggers and fraudsters.

I’m not saying all this to dis or throw cold water on the Thompson campaign.

{rolling eyes} Ri-i-i-i-ght, that's why your trying to smear Fred with the McCain connection. From a post yesterday:

Fred Thompson told the Orange County Register in an interview, “A Republican, especially a conservative Republican – you’re going to have a large group of people you line up with on most votes. John and I certainly fit that category. But we have different views on some issues. We’ll have a good discussion about it. But John is my friend and will remain my friend, regardless of what we do.”

On the issues, Thompson parts company from McCain on the Bush tax cuts (which Thompson supported and McCain voted against), the patient’s bill of rights (a pet project of McCain’s which Fred opposed on federalist grounds), McCain-Feingold (which Fred originally supported, but now freely admits the limitations on political ads were wrong and should not have been included in the law) and the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill (which Fred opposes).

McCain also favors protecting sexual orientation by civil rights laws, which Fred Thompson opposes. McCain favors more federal funding for health coverage, which Fred opposes. Fred voted to preserve the budget for driiling in ANWR, while McCain voted to kill it. Finally, Thompson favors allowing churches to provide welfare services, which McCain opposes.

Over the years, Fred has become more conservative, while McCain has become decidedly less so.

Besides, who gives a rat's patootie what some obscure blogger has to say.

It ain’t over ‘til its over, and over is if a candidate drops or Convention.

Fred will be around a while, even if McCain and Huck actually take it in SC. He knows those two have a shelf life and the electorate is running dumb and blind right now.

There is a couple of “them constant negative on Fred types” around. Bitter I think that Fred is “stealing” Duncan Hunters conservative thunder, or just flat grenade throwers. I think they are working towards exactly what they do not want, personally.

Fred was all but ignored by the media.

Not in the last two months he hasn’t been. He has probably been number one or two on all media. He has been on a vast amount of shows. He has been given every opportunity to sell this to the American people and particularly South Carolina. Let’s see if he made the sale. I still don’t think that he should drop out before 5 February...this election has so many twists and turns that we don’t know what will happen.

I will be terribly disappointed if Fred endorses McLame.

What do you think you'd accomplish if Thompson dropped out? Since Hunter isn't even registering at all in the polls, if every Thompson supporter went to Hunter he'd have the same amount of support that wasn't enough for Fred. But guess what? Hunter's not going to get all of Fred's support. I personally think Fred will pull it out and surprise the nay sayers but if not my second choice is Mitt.

If Hunter runs in 2012 or 2016 I'll consider supporting him. It's over for Duncan in this race, even if he and a small handful of Freepers can't see what's obvious to the rest of the world.

Still not even in the theater...

The money is there, the support is there and with the Huck BS the frustration has him refocused.

He may get frustrated and quit, though there is no indication of that right now, but it won’t be due to support internally or financially.

The thrust of what his team and backers are focusing on is weathering this McCain and Hucakabee mess.

No bitterness? Your guy can't even beat 'undecided'.

Sorry, but the yoke is on you. All these anti-Fred posts you come up with just expose more of your dismal failure to get your guy in the forefront.

Give it up.

Nope. I’ll be here posting for Hunter when all the Fredheads have moved on to supporting some RINO. Of course, some will join team Hunter as well.
