Those who fail to understand that there about a thousand things at a substantially higher threat level to “freedom” than the stupid income tax. I guess they just have no other way to make themselves to feel like they “matter”.
What a feeble attitude. Do nothing about the sword hanging over your head because there is an army 100 miles away. You’ll be fine.
Markus Tulius was right.
The same way the INS was eliminated?
Newsflash, the same employees will be working for the government , the same tax judges, the same tax courts, the only thing will happen is a few signs and titles will be shuffled. No one government union job will be permitted lost.
The federal tax collection agency will always be there.
The assertion a federal sales tax “will work well” is as absurd as the proven catastrophe of the 1991 luxury tax.
It is even EASIER now to move goods transactions outside the USA via the net now.
Umm. As long as the 16th amendment exists, the income tax exists. Add another tax by any name, including FAIR, and you have a tax increase.
(SIGH), once again, there are many pictures in the article posted. Please discuss the topic.
Or are you going to, once again, make the invalid claim that you have already discussed them?
So you won't even acknowledge that this is a discussion about the pros and cons of the FairTax? How do you expect anyone to take you seriously?
Where is your response to the article posted?
These little back and forths of yours really cement everyone's perceptions of you. Obviously you think in such small notions that your idea of posting on Free Republic is to slither in, insult, and slither out.
And the "everyone" you refer to is generally known by other freepers as "the voices in your own head", so get over your "holier than thou" self.
Then one can only assume, since you refuse to discuss the topic of the thread, that you are here only to disrupt and spread lies.
When you wake up and smell the coffee you will find out that there are people on this forum that don't appreciate your manners. I suggest you get out of here ASAP.
Mostly pointless, and not worthy of discussion.
That's not what we are here for. Grow up and join the discussion and stop being a childish disruptor.
Please present a note from your mommy as to you being the sole arbiter of what is or is not being discussed on any particular thread.
Well there’s nothing being discussed on this thread save your benightedness. And since there is nothing more to you than that it would follow that this discussion is ended.
Mostly pointless, and not worthy of discussion.
With the FairTax - if you’d read the bill - you’d see that there is no unfunded mandate to do the government’s work for them without compensation (as there is under the income tax). Even though the work requited is less under the FairTax, the merchant is still well compensated for the collection./reporting he does.
From the bill:
`SEC. 204. ADMINISTRATION CREDIT.
`(a) In General- Every person filing a timely monthly report (with regard to extensions) in compliance with section 501 shall be entitled to a taxpayer administrative credit equal to the greater of—
`(1) $200, or
`(2) one-quarter of 1 percent of the tax remitted.
`(b) Limitation- The credit allowed under this section shall not exceed 20 percent of the tax due to be remitted prior to the application of any credit or credits permitted by section 201.
Do you not (with some exceptions) have money withheld from your paycheck without you ever seeing it?
Do you not have to reveal the details of your financial life?
Do you not have to jump through government hoops (must do this, can’t do that to qualify for this deduction or that program) that effect your life?
The IRS is too intrusive. My life is none of their business, neither what I make or where is any of their concern.
