“BMO strategist Donald Coxe warns credit crunch and soaring oil prices will pale in comparison to looming catastrophe.”
Another catastrophe? How many is that now?
Amazing how anyone survives.
The biggest catastrophes are not caused by nature or by depletion of resources as much as they are caused by bad government. During the Stalin era in the Soviet Union millions died because of government meddling with agriculture.
The same thing could happen if governments require that we burn our food for fuel.
Being of Ukrainian descent, I am quite aware of what stalin did.
Seems like every day we hear about some new catastrophe or crisis.
Catastrophes do happen. Besides the millions who died in the Soviet Union or in China at the hands of communists, today millions are suffering from malaria because of meddling by governments who banned DDT which kills the mosquitoes that spread the disease.
Not impossible in the next few years but unlikely, would be fantastic political uproar in such a scenario.
