The Paul campaign really has to explain their support of Alex Jones, more so than they need to explain the David Black contribution. So far, they haven’t explained either one.

I still want to see the David Black donation returned. People keep saying RP should donate elsewhere like to a Jewish charity but that's dishonest. You either accept it or return it, not funnel it away to something else. To go Seinfeld on it, "No re-gifting".

I wonder how many people in this country are named Alex Jones? Tens of thousands, probably. Jones is a very common name and Alex has been a popular name since the Sixties at least.

Seems to me that if Ron Paul was going to pay the Alex Jones for something, it would be a lot more than a puny $1300. Jones probably rakes in more than that every day with his little Truther videos and books.

Per the usual practice, I notice the article and the posters here running with the usual unproven crapfest that characterizes their Paul-hating posts. No one has even proven that this is the Alex Jones, let alone what the payment was for.

I'm going to wait to see what the campaign says about it if they're asked.

I'm not the only Allegra in the world. Or even in the U.S. Or even in my hometown of Houston.

The only way that could be me is if Hell has frozen over or pigs are flying around. Haven't seen any pigs with wings around.

So, are the Ron Paul fans all mad because the surge is working? LOL

Actually, they don't seem to discuss the Iraq war all that much. When they do, it's mostly just used as a stick to beat on Bush or the supposedly antiwar Dims in Congress and such.

As for the surge working, much as with Vietnam I think we'll find that military success is easy for us given our wealth and weapons and training. What's elusive is political success.

Better physical self-abuse than the Paulestinian brand of intellectual onanism.

"Tens of thousands of people named Alex Jones." *snarf*

By the time you count both men and women named "Alex Jones", there probably are tens of thousands of them in the country.

My last name isn't all that common but I know of half a dozen others with the same name in my sparsely populated area of a rural state.

These common names like Smith or Brown or Jones, there's tens of millions of them.

I notice you still can't prove that this is the Alex Jones. More speculation. Find some proof.

Since the subject came up on a few threads, I thought I'd point out the following and flag those who I thought might care. You can verify this at the link.
On 9/22/07, the Paul campaign made a "Contribution Refund" of $1300 to the following Alex Jones of Austin:

Mr. Alex Jones
910 W Mary St
Austin, Texas 787044142

Schedule B for ALL Line #'s

"By the time you count both men and women named "Alex Jones", there probably are tens of thousands of them in the country."

Yeah, I'm sure there are some male and female Barry Manilows out there too. Do you actually think RP has that much support, that tens of thousands of people named 'Alex Jones' are giving money to this wacko?

You guys are embarrassing us normal Freepers.

"More speculation. Find some proof."

Once it is proven, what will be your next pathetic excuse?

See my #16. Looks like RP was returning Alex Jones donation. Or at least part of it.

There's speculation about it still. Anyway, that's pretty full disclosure, no matter how many nasty remarks you like to troll through a Ron Paul thread with.

Instead of speculation and nasty remarks, you could have dug that info out just as easily as I did. I think you spend more time on those Ron Paul forums than his actual supporters do. LOL.

In the nictusa database, they show 14 people responsing to a search for “Alex” and “Jones” since 1997 in all political races in the country. It seems the database only lists those contributing over $200.

This includes a number of Alexanders, an Alexis, and so forth.

Either Alex Jones isn’t that common a name or the Joneses are political cheapskates. At any rate, tends of thousands might have been overestimation. But only by three orders of magnitude! LOL.
