Come out and fight like a man, Fred Thompson!

Why does this remind me of the old battlefield strategy where you just line your forces up face to face and shoot the heck out of each other. In that kind of battle, what Thompson is doing can be described as an asymmetrical war. While the other parties are face to face shooting, he is coming in on the side and controlling more and more of the battlefield.

In other words, while the other candidates are playing checkers, Thompson is playing chess. To ask him to play checkers is asking him to give up a battlefield advantage.

I see no reason to insult Duncan Hunter, just because he’s not going to get the nomination doesn’t make him a bad guy.

Yeah, that work as an adult for the gov’t started in Vietnam.

Lots of people start work for the feds via the military... nothing new there. I think past candidates have done the same.

Then why is he hiding then? Refusing to debate the other guys is cowardly and disgusting. You call that “chutzpah”; I call it wimping out. “Come out and fight like a man, Fred Thompson!”

I don't think he's hiding at all, in fact he has been quite visible.

In my opinion, this election season started stupidly early. If Thompson were to hold out 'til September I wouldn't think it's too late.

His responses thus far to Michael Moore, the Clintons, and the media; his writings on a wide variety of topics -- all this show his willingness to fight, his ability to make the left look daft, and his ease in entertaining his suppporters simultaneously by articulating his (our) positions in a "boy, are you a buncha dumb bums" kind of way.

He is a confidence builder, he loves his country, and he can unite a wide swath of the electorate. He will literally and figuratively tower over whatever dingbat the Rats end up nominating.

I don’t think he’s a bad guy. He’s just not as lily white and pure as his supporters like to make him out to be. I didn’t make that pic...I found it on some kook website and posted it to mess with pissant.

Duncan Hunter’s alright. If we had 434 other congressmen like him, we’d be in a lot better shape. He’s not presidential material though and never was.

This is your opportunity to show us all why Fred Thompson the man, the leader, is superior to Mitt Romney.

You've got to be kidding!

Perhaps by dispatching pawns to spam conservative websites with hitpieces on the electable conservative frontrunners.

Well, that would probably represent about 1% of the primary voting audience, of which, best case scenario, they would 'flip' half who read what they post. So you now have 1/2% flipped, but then you have to hope they flip to you and not another 1% candidate.. Let's say we have 4 1% candidates, so now you are looking at increasing your margin by 1/16%. How does that bring you up with Rudy who, even after shaving 1% off, is still beating you by 30%?

Not for long. It will be how does a 10% candidate break thru.

I have no idea. LOL

The sense of futility must be stifling.

You bring up a good point with this.. While the other candidates are out attacking each other, Thompson is taking it right to the Dems.. he knows who the real adversaries are, and by going after Moore and Hilldog, he is appealing to what our side really wants. We don't want candidates that will tear other Republicans down. We want candidates that will go after the left.

Although, I have to say what with 434 other Duncan Hunters, that's an awful lot of teapot museums. I don't think we have enough teapots! :)

Actually, not true. When Hunter gets his name ID up there(working on it) he will be just as electable. And once that happens it will be a matter of records. Fred won’t stand much of a chance with his marshmellow past and tapdancing present.

We don’t feel any need to repeat it just because mittant and pissant tell us we should.

LOL. That oughta go far. Is that the fingers in the ears "LA LA LA LA LA' you are talking but we are not listening strategy.

So is Rudy. He’s taking the dems to the woodshed as well. Does not make me want to support him. Hunter is taking the dems to the woodshed while in congress to this day (who else demanded Harry Reid resign, who else mocked Pelosi’s bill to have a 15 day waiting period for new troop deployments, who else wrote a bill to build a border fence, who else took Murtha’s cut and run bill and forced it to a vote, etc etc).

Its the campaign supporters that fight amongst each other mostly, at least til nearer to primary time.
