I honestly don’t think any Presidential candidate will make that promise or fulfill it. Most will pay lip service to abortion foes but none of them really want to take it on. Probably the best we can hope for is that a conservative SCOTUS will turn it back to the states. Chief Justice Roberts has said it may well be under Stare Decisis and be “settled law.” I don’t think putting this litmus test on candidates is particularly beneficial. Most people in this country don’t want abortion banned entirely but don’t like partial birth or late term abortion. As much as I abhor all abortion, it’s a losing issue for the Republican Party, IMO. With the threat of Islamic Terror and their fanatic desire to spread their sick beliefs to the West, abortion is just not a huge issue for this election, IMO.
