You guys are freaking delusional to believe that we're panicking over Thompson's record being distorted.
Get real
Ironic that they would, since Rudy gets a 100% from NARAL.
“Hes got more $$$ and hes been in campaign mode for longer than most others.
I know the feeling of suffering an investment loss on a promising business model and being in denial, and confusion as to why others did not see what I saw. But at some point you have to cut your losses and get on with it.
Discover FDT and you will feel a huge sense of relief.”
Sadly, the thought of Fred Thompson winning our nomination has me close to the edge of abandoning the Republican Party. McCain and Giuliani are obvious moderates-liberals, but at least they’re moderates-liberals with experience and competence. If we’re going to nominate another inexperienced, do-nothing candidate, after 6 years of Bush incompetence, simply because he’s southern, has an appealing name, and shows hints of being conservative, then I don’t really see any reason to bother with the party. If I were going to abandon Romney, which I assure I won’t, I’d do so for Hunter. He has a long record of experience, competence, and conservatism. Freddy has neither of the first two traits and is, to my lights, barely acceptable on the last (something that applied to our current president in 2000). No thanks.
I think it would be nice to have a first lady that does not look like a frump.
What next should we demand she do a “pretty in pink” press conference too?
What are her positions on the issues? Is she a pro abortion advocate so we can keep it in line with this thread’s topic?
“But I am amazed at how you folks keep saying “we’re just posting what Rudy said,” but when a direct quote from Thopmson is given it’s a “distortion.””
That’s because rudy’s quotes demonstrate a lifelong pattern with him and the kind of judges he’d appoint.
With thompson they rudy and romney folks have either tried to paint him as a pro choicer like rudy, or a flip flopper.
The truth is that since he started running in 1994 he was endorsed by pro life groups. When he voted in the senate he had a solid pro life voting record. He has a zero rating from NARAL. He has said roe v wade is bad law.
That indicates to me that he shares my position, and what I believe to be the constitutional position - roe v wade is bad law and should be overturned by the court. Then the issue returns to the states. That’s why it is laughable to equate this one quote as meaning he’s a big pro choice threat. This is an attempt at FUD - fear, uncertainty, doubt - by the rudy supporters.
Let’s put it this way: If fred thompson got to appoint judges, I’m sure his “strict constructionists” would overturn roe v wade. Rudy’s would uphold it. That’s what matters.
They had to dig waaaaaaay back to find a pro choice comment from Fred. With Rudy you just have to go back to last week.
She’ll be featured with the children. I’m not a bit worried about her looking too young or inappropriate in any manner.
I am a much younger wife too of a professional man and it was rarely and limitedly an issue.
do you know if they make wrinkle cream - that can give a woman wrinkles.
Agree completely. Jeri is no dummy- she’s been around Republican politics for years. She knows how to behave.
I seriously doubt that Fred Thompson’s wife is going to be anything but an asset to his campaign. She’s a political pro, and sounds like a fine human being.
Pot Kettle Black?
No, I never start a thread to attack any of the Rudy-McCain-Romney supporters and their candidates.
And if you notice —>I<— meaning this poster you are reading now, never attack other candidates for their positions. I defend FDT against smears. That’s not Pot Kettle Black.
Get your analogies straight.
The fact is you like him yet you do not know his expose on the Israeli-Arab conflict is lifted from the person I quoted. That’s not an attack. That’s information. Google Haim and learn for yourself. (You won’t do it I know...)
As far as calling him a mannequin, it is again an observation that people have expressed. I have seen him and he appears ‘Ok’ but not sensational. As I said his positions and policies are neither unique nor innovative.
He’s been on the campaign for longer than most and he’s not getting it done. That’s not me saying that, that’s the track record. Much the same with Duncan Hunter.
But you’re likely from Massachusetts and you are proud. I’m just not going to invest in the Romney corporate stock because I see he has formidable competition that will limit his market share in quick order.
And yes I do find him dull, no matter how firey his hand motions, his head swaggers, his lips curl to hurl expressions that were written by others.

I don’t see Romney the person, I see a whole of corporate crapola packaging.
He’s a mannequin. Sell your Romney stock before it crashes!
actually in campaign candidate training schools they tell you to go back as far back as you have to to show a “trend”.
This means if you need to show a candidate is indicisive then go back as far back as needed to show the contradiction.
Don’t be surprised if some of the rabid rudybots (or any other candidate bots) here are really paid posters as this is part of the new campaign phenomenon. (Poedesta’s think tank actually has some people devoted to this)
They are interviewing the guy’s neighbors on the news right now. Guess what? He’s a “loner”! Oh, BIG surprise!
Once again giving credence to the proposition that the safest place to live is next door to a serial killer.
She’s quite an accomplished woman on her own and I’m sure she’s a wonderful mom.
Probably good advice. This was in the Salt Lake City paper today:
I agree and I think a nice young family will be well received by the electorate.
Almost certainly.
“And yes I do find him dull, no matter how firey his hand motions, his head swaggers, his lips curl to hurl expressions that were written by others.”
At least until a few weeks ago, Romney had done his own speech-writing (at least the drafts).
What changed things...repeating famously Castro phrases to South Florida Cubans?
