Yeah. I think I've found a new hero. This guy's writing touches me.
I haven't been here that long, but I haven't seen my tagline in the groups I visit.
However, it's nice to know that others are carrying the torch for Israel.
Yehovah knows!
Look what you started. Tee hee!

This could be a regular daily thread.
Godwin (awesome name), is college for
victims of revisionist history.
Hi Jo -- I've posted a half dozen or so of Godwin's blog entries since December but have been bouncing around the idea of posting them more regularly. My thought was that a weekly thread might be the way to go. That way there would be less ping list fatigue. Once a week I would post what I consider to be his best entry of the preceding 7 days.
Or, if you'd like to do a daily thread, have at it. I should give you a little bit of a warning, though, that Godwin's blog is probably 1 part political stuff to 2 parts spiritual stuff, and the spiritual stuff can get pretty wild. He's a Christian but a very unorthodox one who draws on things that many would consider to be "out there" -- esoteric Christian hermeticism, Kabbalah, Vedanta, psychoanalytic concepts (he's a psychologist). He regularly goes places that conventional Christianity doesn't go. So, just a heads up.
OK. I hear you about being cautious concerning Godwin's "religion".
Hmmmmm.
How about weekly on Fridays, so it can carry over into a weekend discussion.
Just make sure you put me on your ping list.
BTTT-Thanks
I just want to go on record to express my shock and dismay that this article would be so well received. The author has a few really good points; one of which is that some black leaders promote a worldview of victimhood, which ultimately disempowers those who see themselves in that light.
But his characterization of those who are Liberal or Progressive in their thinking or voting as if they were some unified monolithic entity that
is unthinking and deluded it wrong and dangerous. It causes us to
not consider individual opinion, and that flies in the face of democracy.
Unless you are hoping for a fascist state in which no dissent is allowed,
you need to start listening to views that are not immediately appealing and support others’ right to do so.
P.S. I just, also by coincidence happened this week to come across some articles by Deroy Murdock, and his writing and opinions are in no way balanced nor do they reflect a depth of intelligence. If you were to place him in a category, as you have done, he would go in the “bad” category, for the deceptive nature of his arguments. I hope there is someone who reads this for whom it will make a difference.
Yes, that's a really good point. The auther makes many other good points as well, which is why the piece is well received.

The Left is a group with identifiable characteristics that my be spoken of in general terms. Yes, we all know you guys aren't identical and that there are exceptions to the rule. However, if we had to call out all the exceptions every time we made a general statement, we'd never be able to express anything meaningful because even the simplest thoughts would take 300 pages.
Speaking in generalities is how most human communication takes place. You're just going to have to learn to live with that.

Are you kidding? Democracy is all about group opinion. You might want to check into the Greek word "demos" some time.
Unless you are hoping for a fascist state in which no dissent is allowed,
Oh Lordy...
you need to start listening to views that are not immediately appealing and support others right to do so.
You are quite presumptuous.
My advice to you is to stick around this place, read as much as you can, and keep an open mind. You'll be surprised by how many good points are made and how much pressure your current thinking will be placed under.
