They do not believe anyone is willing to inflict millions of casualties to stop them from developing nuclear weapons. They may be right. Our current leadership in Congress and the WH makes this statement true.

bad idea-israel shouldn't kill iranian civilians who probably hate ahmedinajad-they should target the leadership cadre with BIG conventional weapons-i.e.MOAB or Daisycutter

As soon as the Saudi can cover the Iran's contribution to the world oil supply, Israel strikes.
Saudi having been increasing their total capacity for some time. Long before this all became public.
What Iran doesn't realize is we've been playing chess and they think the game is checkers.

Let's pray a student-led rebellion makes it unnecessary.

Another hyped non-story from the media industrial complex.
Of course Israel has plans for this kind of operation, and probably for a lot of other scenarios. It is almost a dead certainty that the US; and Britain, for that matter; have similar ones. There would be no point in having the weapons if they didn't. This is not the same as itent.

You are wishing for a nuclear war? Praying for it? Yes, I cannot imagine a future any worse than Iran with nuclear weapons. The Hiroshima model is the way to stop that.

It links well with Resolution 1737, links well with Bush's weekend shakeup, links well with recent CentCom shift and recent carrier group movements into the Gulf.
It boots the DUmmys off the front page (new Sunday fronts no doubt on emergency order), and will dominate the Sunday freak shows.
Most importantly, it puts Iran on the defensive during a power vacuum caused by Shitstaini's death, and sets the clock running on Achtungijad.

Plans don't mean squat. It is the job of ever military to make plans for every contingency, even alien invasion.

This makes more sense than a conventional attack, certainly. It would pretty much exhaust their nuclear capacity, though.

ISRAEL PLANS NUCLEAR STRIKE ON IRAN Pretty ambiguous headline.
When they do so, it won't be on the coattails of media headlines.
Unless they already have struck....

That's why they call it "The Samson Option" after the story in Judges 16:28-30.
