Speak for your own damned self and not others....DO NOT tell me what I support or why I gather at FR.

Yo, Gabz. Have you read the statement from the founder? It says in part: We oppose all forms of ...homosexualism... etc. That's what this thread is about and it's one of the reasons why we gather at FR.

I thought we were actually having a good conversation even though we basically disagree about the deception used by AFA, but after this particular post of yours, I'm done with you.

Wow. There wasn't much in that post to get so excited about, especially considering the statement from the founder. BTW, you already said you were done with me once so I was a little surprised to see you continue.

Maybe we can start over sometime in the future, as you can start over with me anytime.

Sounds like it was a great time of evangelistic outreach! Still, I'm a fan of Ecclesiates 3. There is a time for everything.

The organization wasn't just sloppy, they deliberately tried to give the impression that,

"Wal-Mart Contributes 5% Of Online Sales To Homosexual Group"

"The cash donation will come from ALL online purchases made at Wal-Mart through the homosexual group's Web site."

If they were deliberately trying to give that impression, would it not have been more effective to just leave that statement out?

All I'm seeing are people being legalistic and nitpicky. If AFA were making big bucks off of their position, people would be attacking that.

Wasn't that a song by the Byrds? I didn't know they wrote part of the Bible. Those guys must be really old.

I believe you saw the point all along, it is you that have wasted my time with feigned ignorance and legalisms.

I believe somebody in the band had a father named David...

Wasn't he the lead guitar player?

I thought he was the song writer but I don't see why he couldn't be the lead guitar player as well.

You might not have noticed that scripter did not ping you. There was only one person he pinged to that post and that was P-Marlowe. It might also interest you to know that scripter and P-Marlowe are old acquaintances, and that when scripter said, "why we gather at FR" that he was specifically speaking of why he and P-M gather at FR.

Also with me....we've all been friends here for a very long time.

I will disagree with p-marlowe on this one, because I'm part of an organization that has had a serious fight against takeover by a gay caucus. I know how they come in, and I know the little inroads that were gradually made.

I don't think it accidental that Wal-Mart published their gay ties, and I don't think it accidental that information about their 5% web link to homo-advocacy is public.

the headline gives it all away:

Wal-Mart Contributes 5% Of Online Sales To Homosexual Group

That headline would give the average reader/consumer the idea that anything purchased online from WalMart gave a kickback to this particular organization. Of course people that read beyond the headline know the headline is an outright fabrication, but the average person just reads te headline and AFA kows this and thus their misleading and deceptive PR campaing against WalMart.

Finally getting to read the thread. I hope you're saving your comments. Excellent and promoting deeper thought.

Regarding the AFA/Walmart debate, I think some people just hate the AFA and Dobson and that's the beginning and end of it.

This bigot here is glad that there are some people still fighting the homosexual agenda. Maybe these people aren't all perfect. But rather than criticize the AFA, I think the "gay" agenda promoters should be criticized.

I think that's a great way of looking at it. The AFA isn't perfect. I'm far from perfect. Nobody is perfect. It's as you said, the gay agenda promoters and the radical homosexual activists should be criticized for what they're doing to our culture.

And if someone doesn't like how the AFA is trying to promote traditional (aka as "real") values, then find another way to promote them.

One way or another, there's as many ways as there are people!

You act as if you were born yesterday without a clue about headlines.

So, the AFA is expected to write misleading headlines to sell newspapers and/or advertising space now?

AFA is all about morals, right? Get a clue.

But to call the AFA statement ridiculous, mindless, shameless hyperbole is to ignore the facts that Walmart is providing funds to organizations that help erode our culture.

No, it's not. Again, my point here is about this article and the AFA's making a mountain out of this mole hill.

Forget it.

This was sent as email to subscribers such as myself and posted on AFA's website. As far as I know, it was NOT a press release to the MSM, nor do I see it reported by the MSM.

The people it was sent to, know the AFA and their mission. Most of them generally agree with and support that mission.

It is safe, IMO, to assume that the receivers of this email, actually read the entire email, understood the email and then decided whether or not they agreed with and wished to support said mission.

If you and others, want to demonize conservatives groups that are attempting to warn about a dangerous agenda and would rather obfuscate the message and pick apart a "headline" of an email...

What are we going to do when the Chocolate market is cornered by gay activists? Are we going to simply boycott? Or take up arms?
