I'm guessing one group or other of the Russian scientists may be dyslexic.
Woof.

I believe all the speaking apes now have jobs writing television news programs.

LOL I think we might have found a place of agreement. I guess then the sex, violence and gender confused apes are in the movie industry ;)

Suppose you are an ape, and suppose you are a member of Congress ... but I repeat myself.
With apologies to Mark Twain.

...science was practiced by clergy as they were the most educated people. OK, so what's a better way of stating that people are *doing* science or engagint in it or running experiments? Doctors practice medicine, don't they? It's a legitimate use of the word and gets the meaning across.

I'll tell you exactly what I think.
The young scientist says "Look how clever how I am for discovering this!"
The old scientist says "Look how clever God was to have done this!"
Now watch the usual jerkwads come in and make fun of me for saying that. It got old years ago here and I don't put up with it and they know it. We have a tacit understanding.

LOL
I'm sure Mr. Clemens wouldn't mind the paraphrase. 'specially with the devolution of Congress we've seen in the last several decades (e.g. Murtha, Boxer, Bell, and that wacky cop hater).

I think you have it. The arrogance of the young juxtaposed to the wisdom of the old.
I guess both are part of the human condition.

There is God, and we can see the manifestations of His will
Thanks, RW. The Omnipresent God, indeed. We marvel at His creations. His Hand on everything; made it all - just the way He wanted it. No power is greater than The Almighty.

Good post, metmom. Thanks. He holds it all in place with His spoken convenant Word. The Bible has the answers from beginning to end.

That's why I think it's funny. It implies that "science" is some sort of discipline that can be "practiced", like dentistry. It's like saying you "practice" theology or philosophy.
