Thanks for posting this!! Does anyone have the 'official tip line' so we can send all of the stuff we have dug up to DOJ? I have been looking for it and can't find it so far. Help with this would be appreciated.
Yellow journalism and trial by media. ZOGBYISM at its finest.
Fact is that [Mike] Rogers admits to being in possession of the IMs BEFORE they were posted on the web via his own comments on his site:As people know, its not always possible for me to disclose my role in some of the activities.
I can say this. I had the emails before they were on the net. Additionally, I had the additional emails, written by the page to a friend. The story was being written by a number of outlets and I provided additional information to reporters involved in the breaking of this story.
Was [I] the central figure in reporting on Foleys latest scandal? Never said I was. Was my work on the case important to helping make sure it came out before the election? Yes.
So how did the Democrats get the messages? Hacker wiretap?
Congress is worse than a small town when it comes to keeping secrets. If it was known that pages were told to steer clear of Foley it's hard to believe the democrats didn't know.
Does the GOP look bad? heck yeah they do but the democrats are peeing all over themselves with excitement and will burn themselves like they always do.
Another good question in my view is "would" the left hide a crime for political advantage. By definition of who they are they would. The left must cheat to win. The left must disguise themselves to win.
The left must lie to win.
So we know they would hide a crime--and have done so many times and are still doing so.
Looks like I was on to something since that's one of the earliest posts on FR concerning this issue.

I was busy with something else at the time.
BTW, by the time we get to Sunday evening Freepers have tracked down some of the "sources" of those materials, so we now have at least one name for the FBI to "grill".
I started second-guessing myself when I came back from an evening out at midnight and began catching up. I found out later that I should have just trusted my instincts.

"Rogers closed down his old blogger site Blogactive "
He did??
Then what's this??

The pattern that I see emerging is for Democrats to knock Republicans out of races after filing deadlines in order to run unopposed. This is where my suspicions started tingling the senses. The US Supreme Court refused to step into the New Jersey case with Torricelli, calling it a state issue. Now we have Democrats forcing DeLay to stay on the ballot when he's not running, and presumably they'll do the same thing with Foley. We'll see what happens with Menendez in NJ.
At some point the Supreme Court will have to stop this tactic.

Good riddance to Foley. If his wife want to stick with him, she'd better get him into *serious* long-term counseling by someone who won't 'validate' his homoeroticism.
That said, I haven't heard of anything that would be criminal: age of consent in DC is 16, and the content of the communications both ways made public sound like the page wasn't resisting the cyber-advances. And we all know that the abuse of power involved someone in government (as opposed to academe) taking advantage of an intern is a private matter, 'just sex', no big deal. . . (Or are the demonRATs going to make a big distinction between pages and interns?)
Well, I take back my second sentence. I see Foley isn't married (it must be a recollection of some earlier sex scandal that appended the 'disappointed my wife and family' statement of contrition to this one in my mind).
And Mr. Foley is not the only person who could possibly face prosecution, Professor Berman said. If there were people who knew about him or protected him, he said, some sort of complicity or conspiracy charge is certainly viable.
(Emphasis mine.)
Foley's oppnent has raised MUCH MORE MONEY than a democrat should be able to raise in a supposedly safe disctrict. And John Kerry showed up to campaign for the guy on Saturday (quite a coincidence, huh?).
It would not surprise me to find that there are several supposedly safe Republican seats which suddenly have well-funded democrat opponents. If we could find those districts, we could spot where the next bombshell will be thrown.

Unreasonably large anounts of Rat money in a supposedly safe GOP district are the key to this. I just wish I knew how to find out.
I went to www.fec.gov and started doing searches. I'm looking at that candidate/party/pac summaries. For CA-26 (Dreier), I don't see anything unusual. Dreier has $1.2 million in receipts and and $3 million in cash. Nobody else is close.
If I do only a statewide search for Florida, I see in Foley's district (16) that he and his opponent both have about a little over a million in receipts, but Foley has $2.7 million in cash, too.
Try poking around there on a state by state basis and see if anything unusual pops up. I might do the same later.
