A poster responded at RedState exposing outright amnesty in the draft legislation:

No amnesty By: Jon Sandor
I did look over the draft, and there is indeed an amnesty provision in it.

In Sec.1404, Correction of Social Security Records, we find the following provision.

Section 208(d)(1) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 408(d)(1)) is amended--

(1) in subparagraph (B)(ii), by striking ``or'' at the end; (2) in subparagraph ©, by inserting ``or'' at the end;
(3) by inserting after subparagraph © the following:

``(D) who is granted status under section 101(a)(15)(W) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(15)(W)); and'' (4) by striking ``1990.'' and inserting ``1990, or in the case of an alien described in subparagraph (D), if such conduct is alleged to have occurred before the date on which the alien was granted nonimmigrant status under section 101(a)(15)(W) of the Immigration and Nationality Act.''.

This creates a new exception to 42 USC 408, which sets out the punishment for falsifying information to the IRS.

The long knives came out for Pence the instant Tancredo called on his minions to try and destroy another Republican.

Thankfully fewer and fewer normal people are taking Tancredo seriously. He has marginalized himself by trying to destroy fellow Republicans and soon the only people he'll have left are a few kook followers.

But Tom should look on the bright side. I bet Ron Paul is always looking for a partner.

Absolutely.

He's a threat to Tancredo.

What's so funny is that these are the very same people who are upset because some of us are questioning Chris Simcox.

So now you're posting stuff from other forums and calling it news.

You're right. Only "news" from accepted "news sources" like the lamestream, dinosaur media is actually "news" and should be kept out of the Bloggers ghetto on Free Republic. Funny how if this piece which appeared in new media (RedState) was published in a dinosaur publication it would not have been tossed into the ghetto while, at the same time Free Republic is a member of the new media.

I'm sure that you enjoyed getting this article tossed into the ghetto. Instead of debating the rational points that the author published about Pence's amnesty plan, you just want to kill any dissension about the plan.

By the way, there are several articles from RedState and other similar sources in News/Activism. I haven't seen you complain about those. Just this one. That is keeping with your agenda, of course, which is as transparent as it could be.

The long knives came out for Pence the instant Tancredo called on his minions to try and destroy another Republican.

The same knives that tried to destroy another conservative Republican, Chris Cannon, by pushing a nutcase who thinks the devil saboted his business and his campaign.

Tancredo has wrecked himself by attempting to take down a sitting GOP congressman in a primary. He may get votes for President on FR, but he couldn't be elected dog catcher anywhere else.

If Pence's bill is passed, then Tancredo will lose the issue which is what he wants. He doesn't want a solution. Without it, he becomes another no name Congressman who won't even get a passing glance from the media and all those millions his blind followers send him will dry up.

I guess being a border pimp as its rewards and Tancredo desperately doesn't want to lose those.

Yep, Tancredo is a 1% wonder. He will never get any traction except among a few like minded kooks.

Winning Internet polls is one thing. Winning real election is something else. Just ask the Democrats.

You keep saying that conservative Republican Rep. Tom Tancredo is trying to "destroy another Republican". That is not true. Tancredo is simply working in opposition to Rep. Pence's amnesty plan. Pence is still a member of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus founded and chaired by Rep. Tancredo. They are still colleagues, conservatives, and work together on immigration reform issues among other things. Your invention of a huge divide between the two that does not exist is divisive and dishonest.

As for working to "destroy another Republican", just look at the stuff you and your quisling comrades have been posting about Rep. Tancredo. You can't debate or rationally discuss his proposals and issues, so you all resort to repeating the lies and smears invented by the leftist Democrats who oppose Tancredo. Is it because Tancredo is a liberal? No, in fact he is one of the most conservative members of Congress as evidenced by his high ratings from various conservative organizations. No, the reason that you and your quisling cabal oppose him is because he is one of the strongest voices in Congress and the nation for border security and immigration reform and against amnesty and rewards for the criminal invaders.

Instead of discussing the points made by this author, you inject your ongoing smears of Rep. Tancredo into this thread. You are incapable of rational discussion and can only post smears and lies about a strong Republican conservative.

That's the whole point. The issue is lost and weth it, Tancredo's face time on TV and his 3rd party platform.

This is not easy on the eyes to read. It's much easier to read on the actual redstate site itself, so I'm not sure why you posted the entire thing.

ROTFLMAO! That is just as tiresome as it is inaccurate and fallacious. Not one poster here is a quisling or an advocate for open borders.

Why did Tancredo propose a guest worker program in 2003 that was almost identical to Pence's, but thinks Pence's is terrible?

Wow. Looks like the SPLC must have faxed talking points to all their helpers. But I think we should help out those who might not be on the phone tree, so here's the straight poop from the hard left:

The funny thing is the good Congresscritter Pence hasn't actually gone to the trouble of introducing his 'Bill' yet.

Personally I think he's grandstanding the issue for a possible Presidential run.

Also for all the folks pounding on Tancredo around here they seem to forget that our benevolent sponsor Jim Robinson (I'm pinging him because I mentioned his name) recently came out in favor of Congressman Tancredo.

So I guess all the folks pounding on you in this thread will soon be pounding on Jim as well.

That is they will if they have any guts.
