Maybe someone can write about it.

This is one of the people that are fighting to make the dream of freedom come true in the Middle East. Please don't let him and his allies down.

Middle East ping needed.
And, I agree. We should stand behind pro-democracy activists solidly. I'll call the Egyptian consulate tomorrow.

I'm glad they won't give up as easily as you.
The Egyptians are very sensitive to their image in the US and Europe because they have little in the way of petroleum resources and rely on tourism for a lot their economic needs.

I don't know that this will be just a one night arrest thing or if they will try to make an example out of him and keep him arrested for a while.
Yes... and calling those numbers and protesting these arrests may just help make sure that these detainees get buried in a foundation of a local construction project.

We're not talking American human rights here. If someone is a nuisance you hold them for a while and then let them go. If it becomes a tug of war for who's the boss, there's a body count. They will kill people to prove who is in charge. Protesting and complaining in such an environment is a high risk game. If you don't have the weapons for a direct assault you are at the regimes mercy. Being a pain in the rear end may not be the smart thing to do.
