I give Chuckie 0% of the blame on this.
The real problem was Republican Congresscritters who appealed to the absolutely lowest common denominator on the Right -- aided and abetted by muckrackers like Hannity, Coulter and Savage.
This whole episode was totally irresponsible and did the United States of America a great deal of damage.
A superpower that can't tell its friends from its enemies won't be a superpower for long.
Check out this from Newsmax. Lou Dobbs is questioning President Bush's ties to the UAE...
"Lou Dobbs, who came out against the port deal, added that lobbyists for the UAE "don't see anything wrong with helping push this $7 billion port deal through, even if it raises serious questions about national security."
I guess he doesn't see anything wrong with lobbyists for Eller and Co using Schumer as their spokesperson.

I just saw his article so I assumed he was always with us. I thought I saw him on Fox Sunday last week and he was solid? Are you sure?
I heard him, with my own ears, on Brit's show, when this all began. I damned near choked on my dinner, because I had fully expected him, of all people, to be on the right side of this.
But, I'll give him kudos, for coming around; unlike so many others.
Say it ain't so. In her 22 February column SO, THREE MUSLIMS WALK INTO A PORT, she was still waiting for some decent rationale, but hadn't clearly come down on either side. Did she fall off the wagon after that publicly? Her subsequent columns didn't address the issue. Do you have the reference?

Without even having to get involved in a bidding war, some US based terminal operator is going to own the leases that DP World is giving up.
Keep an eye on SSA where Patty Murray's husband is employed. SSA stands to reap big rewards in this deal.
