True. You know we are only ones talking about this at all. I mean at all. The above poster and his efforts could be as famous as the famous post 47 on FR that brought down Dan Rather if one of big blogs picked it up

Very flimsy rationale, IMO.

Re-reading my post, I'm afraid perhaps I wasn't clear. I meant that Eller using that excuse about companies pulling business as a reason to be against DPW was flimsy. Just wanted to clarify I was disputing Eller's premise, not the author.

Ahem... "her" efforts... :-)

You know I've emailed this to many of the "big" bloggers with NO response. Seems they only listen to each other...

Ever wonder what would happen if the Navy took over the ports. Instead of longshoremen, we'd have sailors in charge of loading and unloading. Nobody could complain about security of that happened.

Might be some unhappy union workers, might be a few unhappy companies who thought they'd step in and get a deal at fire sale prices, but that's life.

I forgot to add that the Eller & Co website is "under construction". There is minimal info available about them on the Internet. Interestingly, Eller & Co merged its stevedoring operations with New Jersey's International Terminal Operating Co. (ITO) in 1998. Then surprise, surprise, P&O acquired all the issued stock of ITO in 1999 as it's first US investment. Bad blood by history me thinks..

When it just doesn't make sense, follow the money!

Nice work.

And don't forget chuck's newest and bestest buddy, michael weiner(savage).

Yeah, those two are attached at the hip.

True, but the whole premise of "national security concerns" Schumer was built on a foundation made of clapboard.

You'd have to have a draft. I could see charlie rangel trying to say no to a draft for 100,000 new Navy recruits for port security and not mob run unions. He'd bust a blood vessel.

I think of going over to the UAE Community blog. And at each UAE bloggers site Going to the comment section post this link to this thread and tell then to yell it at the top of their lungs

I don't listen to Savage but when I read about it here I couldn't believe he was slobbering all over Chucky. Just another reason not to listen to him.

I lost all respect for Savage on this one along with Sean Hannity, Michelle Malkin, Bill Bennett, and Pat Buchanan.

Here's the honor roll as far as I could tell from my sporadic listening and reading over the past few weeks:

David Brooks
Larry Elder
Jack Kemp
John Hinderaker of Powerline
Charles Krauthammer
Larry Kudlow
Rush Limbaugh
Michael Medved
Bill O'Reilly

Feel free to add others. You can tell alot about the IQ of various conservatives based on how they came down on this issue.

Oh yes, please do that. I wanted to link your thread last night over there but I hesitated.

We need these people to see that we're not all hysterical haters and that we support our President Bush.

Jonah Goldberg of NRO is another one that immediately comes to mind. He wrote an editorial in the LAT about a week after the ports issue came to the forefront.

Add Newt and Laura Ingraham to the anti-ports list. Sean's absolute nastiness to anyone that supported the ports deal shocked me. Michelle Malkin was beyond overboard also. Rush, who I don't really care for, was a stand-up guy on this whole issue.
