Liberals resfuse to accept it, but there's usually a reason the "have-not's" have not, and it's not because the "have's" have. The liberal's favorite cure of taking from the "have's" to give to the "have-not's" is not the answer.

And the "have not's" have usually pissed off all of the "haves" that could have helped until there is nobody left to care.

Good points. Of course, I always go camping armed, and where I go, way deep, there's not too many bums going to be there anyway..

It used to be really bad where I go camping. You couldn't hardly walk 50 yards without running into some stinking hippie who would hit you up for whatever you had in your wallet. Rapes and assaults were not uncommon either. Fortunately, a new ranger has taken over in the last couple of years, and he's pretty much run those maggots out.

I also never go camping without a piece.

This hits so close to home. My family has learned- twice- that Mark Twain's axiom "No good deed ever goes unpunished" is very true.
We've made a rule- NO MORE STRAYS!!!

They will eat you out of house and home, double your electric bill, blast your phone bill into the stratosphere, and cost you a fortune in other related expenses- like when they hit you up for money for baby formula and diapers at the end of the month. Of course, the next day "a friend" will just happen to "give" them the latest DVD or video game, or new boots, or jewelry, etc. And they will really believe you won't make the connection between the two.
They will be incapable of washing a dish, emptying a trash can, sweeping a floor, or (god forbid) cleaning a toilet.
They never run out of excuses why they can't look for work.
Or pay their share of the electric bill.
Or restock your now-empty pantry and medicine cabinet.
Or follow the budget you helped them write.
Or keep their rooms clean (which now smell like an open grave and are infested with vermin.)

One "friend" we took in ended up taking us for almost eight grand (counting the vehicle she wrecked.)

The young couple we took in (they were literally on the street, she was pregnant, and the weather was getting cold) made our lives a living hell for a year and a half. We finally had to put them right back on the street. No choice- they were costing us so much that we were going in the hole every month, and our savings were tapped out.
