God help the guy who doesn't harumph in the commission. Gov Lapetimaine is exactly the kind of guy we don't need looking at fixing this stuff.

Agree that a commission is necessary, but only after we've had professionals try to fix problems.

There definitely is a congressional role here, too, eventually. But all these folks shooting from the hip with proposed legislative solutions before we even understand the problems are going to create more problems than they fix.

Unfortunately, just the opposite of what you hope to see is happening. Sen.s Pelosi and Reid today being just two of the more vocal examples. Pelosi has no idea what happened in or around the effected areas, but she's got some great suggestions on how to 'fix' things she doesn't even know are broken.

Or the other way around, for that matter.

I agree completely. Both Harry Reid and Pelosi were sounding off unbelievably with nothing but politics on their mind. And I think a commission or virtually any legitimate look at this will be unable to show anything but massive failures at the local level to begin with. Past that, I don't at this point know. Lots of questions, few answers. Plenty of time for that later. What I'm seeing on TV is very encouraging. Our military, constantly risking their lives to save people. Perhaps one day the left side of the aisle will be able to see that.
