Prayers for Krucilla and kudos for Yon. He writes like he's talking to you face to face.

OOps, I misspelled his name but I'm sure God knows exactly who I meant.

Oops, I meant the info in post 5. This info:

> LTC Kurilla got shot 3 times. He's alive and well and in good spirits but that's a hard blow for his men.

>Broke his right femur. It's a miracle his artery didn't rupture. he's a bad ass.

>I wouldn't be suprised if he hooks a phone up in his room and runs the battle from there.

>me: ambushed ?

>Chasing 2 attackers. He was leading the charge like always, the 2nd attacker just turned and burned. Got lucky and hit the Man. Just plain luck.

This Michael Yon is telling it like it is.

And it is not good. He reports about, again and again the same men on the same bullet magnet patrols to the same places. He talks about the people of Mosul laughing about being arrested and going to an airconditioned prison.

When are we going to stop wasting such heroic troops in this Vietnam redux and start fighting like WW2.

Heck at least in Vietnam we were fighting to tear down Communism - TODAY WE ARE FIGHTING TO BUILD UP AN ISLAMIC REPUBLIC !

Re: To: 13times; cgk; GummyIII

Friend of mine who is stationed in Iraq told me about this incident.

My prayers go to LTC Kurilla and his men.

Michael Yon can take solace in one aspect. If the commanders and troops didn't like and trust him for keeping his word about not releasing information he would never be allowed in the TOC our counsels of war. I never saw a reporter trusted as much when I was in Vietnam, maybe there were some, I just never saw them.
