yeah but I have to drive for 3 hours to get to my nice easy lazy Saturday :)
its street fair time out where my parents live so the wife and I are going there for the weekend :)
My Lazy Saturday is currently blocked off due to road destruction.
:-/
Time to project completion: Unknown.
well destruction is your forte right?
:)
Yes, but in this case it is keeping me from the target range.
yeah that sucks.....
I get to eat greasy food and play poker with the town's firefighters tomorrow :)
Local fire department here needs volunteers.
I am not cut out for it.
We have more than our share of idiot kids twistig up their cars with the attendant post accident vehicular extractions.
I wouldn't be able to take that.
Kids in the car would send me off.
Adults in the car, hey, no problem.
Kids, kids are the worst.
Actually, it makes perfect sense. It was stupid to try and refuel a big ship in a port in Yemen, too. It would be even nuttier to fire back at some terrorist sniping from somewhere in an otherwise peaceful port. The thing to do is come down hard on the king of Jordan for allowing terrorists to operate in his country.
I am a bit surprised that while in port, some of their own defensive systems were not active. After the Cole, you would think, particularly in the Mid East, that there would be provisions for this.
Both ships are equiped with CIWS designed for shooting down incoming missiles.
I understand a reluctance to do so in port because whatever you hit is going to fall right into the middle of the port city and cause civilian, collateral damage and death. Just the same, protection of those ships is the first order of business IMHO when they are fired upon.
Once they were fired upon in this manner and in this situation, the clear course of action was to get to sea. It is not like they were in the middle of an ongoing landing where they had air cover and other supporting ships to supress this type of fire.
Just my thoughts on the issue.
