The opinion you cited of the Supreme Court Justice contradicts this view of equality of faiths in the USA.

My points are...

1) the founding of this nation was not based upon Christianity (Treaty of Tripoli and relevant John Adams quotes).
2) Many of the most influential founding fathers were not Christians but Deists (relevant quotes by Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and by a Pastor about George Washington).
3) All Americans are free to worship or not worship as they please without regard to their acceptance of Jesus Christ as their personal savior.

I guess we could keep arguing about history but I don't see how it would change anything. But don't worry - America won't be a Christian nation much longer. Then you'll be satisfied.

Influenced by, yes. Established upon, NO!

It is interesting that you are claiming that our founders were under the influence of Christianity when they founded this nation. Why would they be influenced by something in which they did not believe. You have impaled yourself upon your own pickard.

It is you and your elk who are the revisionist.

You have already stated that you believe in a god but are totally ignorant of anything about that god. He is what you want him to be and therefore, freed from any moral constraints, you are establish your own form and level of morality.

Your problem, however, is that you live in a nation whhch was founded upon and is guided by the morals and restraints of the Bible. To accomplish your purpose of a godless society on these shores you must claim that America was never a Christian nation to began with.

Good luck, but it will be a cold day when you accomplish your purpose. You have about as much chance as the muslims have of being rewarded with 72 virgins.

Where is your evidence by the founding fathers? Are the words of Adams nothing?

Me and my elk? I didn't know I had any elk.

And my morality is the same as Franklin, an avowed Deist, who lived an upright and moral life ignoring all threat of Hell or promise of heaven.

You have no evidence or facts so you stoop to attacks on my morality and the beliefs of Deism that had much more influence on our founding fathers than Christianity. Impaled by my own pickard indeed. You have not addressed any of the quotes I cited directly contradicting your assertion of a Christian founding by our very founders; or asserting their own disbelief in Christianity, the divinity of Jesus; or asserting their faith as Deists.

The currency of exchange in these posts are facts, quotes, and as a last resort; learned opinion. You seem to be able to muster scant evidence that my quotes are in error or that many of our founders were not Christians, but Deists.
