I am just so furious about this whole thing I can barely stand to hear about it at this point. This woman's only crime was marrying the wrong guy. I thought my ex-husband was a jerk, but this HINO makes him seem like a saint in comparison.
Please elaborate.
I hear ya...
What do you say is BS?
Terri is about to be Greer-Ended.
i didn't write it ... found the listing ... thought it was a pretty good summary of concerns.
More BS?
This isn't BS.
before our eyes we are seeing state sponsored murder. We are seeing the tyranny of a runaway judiciary. Our congress and the president have intervened, but their requests for a fresh look at evidence were ignored, shattering balance of power. Do you think it's BS that Terri cannot even be given communion by a catholic priest? Her parents cannot give her an ice cube.
If a little baby crawled out into a busy highway and sat in
the middle of the road, I'm quite sure that Governor Bush
would risk a jaywalking ticket to rush into the street and
save the child even if the Don't Walk sign was flashing !!!
Terri is an innocent and helpless child right now. Therefore, she
desparately needs someone to bravely risk arrest for jaywalking
to save her life from that evil mob of monsters who are blatantly
attempting to murdere her ... in plain view of the entire world !!!
Jaywalk NOW Jeb !!!
.
Becareful of lists like this, fact checking matters. The last point is wrong, Terri received the Viaticum the day they pulled the tube and started starving her to death.
i belive you are right ... that is referring to a prior incident. I found the list somewhere ... didn't want to alter it.
During the malpractice trial M Sciavo or his experts testified that Terri's expected life span in the condition she was in at that point (Such condition unchanged up to the present?) was an additional 51 years. This number was used in the determination of the award amount and it would appear that, by doing so, and accepting the actual award he was committing to the use of these funds for maintenance of Terri for a period approximating 51 additional years.
It is a fact that, after the determination of the award and actual payment of these funds he then took steps to shorten the maintenance period by removing any support and ceasing all therapies. At the same time, and after the malpractice trial and award of maintenance, he then recalled Terri's expressed desire to not live further in a vegetative state.
On the one hand he sues and collects money based on an expressed commitment (And monetary requirement) to maintain Terri for 51 years while, on the other, he collects the money and then takes steps to shorten the period of required maintenance to as short a time as possible.
At the minimum, if I was the insurer or the person who paid these damages I would demand repayment of the amount awarded in contemplation of long term care to the extent that M Sciavo actually shortened it through his actions.
IMO, this inconsistency only casts further serious doubt on his assertion that Terri would wish to have her life shortened. It is an obvious lie of convenience that underpins all of the rulings by Greer.
Well, charging someone for services not performed really establishes his credibility and integrity with me. (/sarcasm)
/extreme sarcasm
I also heard that he kills little kitty cats, has sex with Harp seals, and plays tiddly-winks while naked...
Doctors for Michael Schiavo have said that an MRI and PET are not necessary for Terri because PVS is primarily a clinical diagnosis, that is, one arrived at on the basis of examination of the patient, rather than by relying on tests. And the neurologists I have spoken to agree on the clinical nature of the diagnosis, while insisting that advanced tests nonetheless are a necessary part of it. But the star medical witness for Michael Schiavo, Dr. Ronald Cranford of the University of Minnesota, has repeatedly dismissed calls for MRI testing, and his opinion has prevailed.
Dr. Cranford was the principal medical witness brought in by Schiavo and Felos to support their position that Terri was PVS. Judge Greer was obviously impressed by Cranfords résumé: Cranford travels throughout the country testifying in cases involving PVS and brain impairment. He is widely recognized by courts as an expert in these issues, and in some circles is considered the expert on PVS. His clinical judgment has carried the day in many cases, so it is relevant to examine the manner in which he arrived at his judgment in Terris case. But before that, one needs to know a little about Cranfords background and perspective: Dr. Ronald Cranford is one of the most outspoken advocates of the right to die movement and of physician-assisted suicide in the U.S. today.
In published articles, including a 1997 op-ed in the MinneapolisSt. Paul Star Tribune, he has advocated the starvation of Alzheimers patients. He has described PVS patients as indistinguishable from other forms of animal life. He has said that PVS patients and others with brain impairment lack personhood and should have no constitutional rights. Perusing the case literature and articles surrounding the right to die and PVS, one will see Dr. Cranfords name surface again and again. In almost every case, he is the one claiming PVS, and advocating the cessation of nutrition and hydration.
More at the link, this isn't the first diagnosis he has made like this. Their so called medical expert is a nutcase.
Did she, in fact? I heard that, but i wasn't sure. Last time, she was denied it. (November 2003)
