I think what strikes me the most about this particular thread is the overwhelming attitude of "I hate conservatives expressing their freedom of speech". I guess First Amendment rights only apply to liberal causes. I was actually told in DU (yeah, I was spying) that I had NO FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS in DU in response to something I said. Ain't that a hoot?

Hey! Thats me except for the MF part I despise that kind of language.

"and all you anti-war, liberal, commie motherf*ckers can rot in hell." Five out of the first 20 posters agreed with that comment so MAKE IT 6 out of 21. I am OK with that.

While a sense of humor is appreciated here on FR (The DUmmies FUnnies is proof of that), it is considered a detriment on DU. I have gotten booted off of there more than once because of witty comments. You know, the whole "how can you smile when Bush is killing hundred's of thousands of innocent Iraqi children in their beds, sacrificing newborns to the Devil and kicking puppies down flights of stairs" thing.

I have a red, white and blue ribbon that says "Freedom isn't Free". Nice to know I'm making some DUmmies' lives miserable! :-)

I don't know, I found their "I Believe" threads to be particularly uplifting and positive ... HAHAHAHAHA ... ok, I almost make it through that without busting up laughing.

Normally I avoid "cutesy" ribbons Me too. I think the whole ribbon/bracelet thing is overdone, tacky, and not my style. Sometimes I think it just becomes the trendy "thing to do," and the car ribbons are manufactured more for profit than patriotism or to promote somebody's business. I don't even like flag decals on cars, because I think it cheapens the flag a little. YMMV. But I don't disparage any well-intentioned patriotism behind those expressions.
Also, DUmmies, I don't fit your stereotype of conservatives either, in that I don't care much for the southern, pickup truck, hunting, NASCAR, country-music culture. I'm a city boy from up north, a liturgical Lutheran (not a Baptist), a baseball fan, and working on my third advanced degree. I like going to coffee shops.
OOPS! I am a Christian, so that's what must make me all screwed up. Funny how the DUmmies start talking about "Support Our Troops" ribbons and right away their thread veers into their typical bigoted anti-Christian screed.

I've got an old junker so folks can key away.Ahhhhh, so we finally get to the crux of the matter. Old Hippy can't afford a new (fuel efficient, low emmission) car so he lashes out at those that can. It's tough squeezing out a living on "disability" payments. Those old VW buses can be a pain to maintain.

I don't even like flag decals on cars, because I think it cheapens the flag a little. YMMV.Same here! I actually purchased a yellow ribbon thing, but I never put it on my car. Didn't want to join the "me too" crowd. Even after 9/11, I didn't do the Flag thing either, I figure if it took a national disaster to make you feel like you loved your country, then sheesh, I dunno...
But I don't disparage any well-intentioned patriotism behind those expressions.
Me neither, I dont see any real harm done. Its just a gut feeling on my part which I dont expect many people to agree with, and thats ok.

There are the yellow ones and then there are the red, white, and blue ones. My guess is, at least around here (NY), the yellow means support our troops and BRING THEM HOME. I may have to agree with this DUmmie. I live in Fort Lickerdale in Bluuuuest Broward Co., they don't 'suffer Republicans to live' around here. And yet everybody has one of the yellow ribbons. I don't get it. I think it's the old I support our troops, BUTT...

"Really?? just google Clinton Death List, and you find many websites with the list of Arkancide victims"
I stumbled across the Clinton Death List for the first time on a recent thread. I didn't realize that being decapitated or shot in the back of the head would qualify as a suicide.
Besides that, I personally don't care what someone else puts on the back of THEIR car. It just amazes me that some people would get so worked up about it. It is a complete waste of time to complain because there is nothing anyone else can do about it (except vandalism, which the DUmmies have discussed at length before).

You've noticed that, too? I've wondered why, if these moonbats know so much about how to live one's life, then how come they're all driving glorified garbage cans? If they were so smart, then it would logically follow that they'd be a bit more successful and able to purchase a nice hybrid car instead of some old clunker with a poor emissions rating.

If I lived in a blue state, well, I still have some unused "Re-elect the President" bumper-stickers from 1972--not that I was that fond of Richard Nixon, even pre-Watergate, but he was, even post-Watergate, better than all the alternatives--and just to see how the DUmmies would react, I would use one or two of them.
The problem being, the DUmmies would not get it.
For DUmmies, history begins when they wake up in the morning; they would have no idea.
