My Mom first felt me kick when Pete Townshend kicked. Abbie Hoffman off the stage at Woodstock.
I knew there was a reason I've always liked The Who.

You speak for me, also. I've been crying all afternoon and evening - and much of the last 2 and a half years, since the 2002 elections - feeling the repressions of this era. The weight of it is mighty and hope is shrouded in the mists ahead. Wow. These people need to get a life. Elie Wiesel found hope in a concentration camp; all these folks have to do is live in America.

Loved it!
My Lady and I were just discussing this the other day- where are the protests? The Sit-ins? Why aren't there hundreds of thousands in DC blocking the streets and singing "Give peace a chance?"
My first babysitter was a serious Hippie (circa 1971.) She took me some interesting places, until Mom got 'wind' of it- smelled pot smoke on my clothes! Even as a little kid I realized they were a pathetic bunch of losers.
My Lady came of age in '70, opposed the war and worked for causes she supported (like Native American rights) but never got into the whole sex & drugs scene.
She's sure she was on an FBI watch list.
She, like Reagan, says she hasn't changed her politics, but the Democrats have moved left. (BTW she voted for Nixon.)
