We usually don't talk politics but if we do it's civil and they tend to be less informed on the issues and don't follow the news very closely. Still I don't browbeat them - I give them my perspective and they give me theirs. Most of them are still Dem's because they believe that BS about the Dem's being for the little guy. I too am about to visit family for the first time in over a decade. I am not sure I will be able to hold my tongue. My mother is becoming more christian fundamentalist by the day. I recently attended a rally at our state capitol to protest the stolen gubernatorial election (see: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1318757/posts)

There was a contingent of libs there to counter-protest that was mainly made up of two groups - paid union thugs, and pimply-faced college "students" from nearby Evergreen (Socialist) State College.

We had several episodes of confrontations between the libs and our people, but guess who they chose to argue with - elder folks! They taunted and chastised a group of NUNS! They yelled and screamed at several old ladies.

I had the singular fortune to witness one of these confrontations and shame the punks with a "Why don't you pick on someone your own size - like me?" taunt. Of course, I had no takers....

Income Under $ 15000, Bush 36%; Kerry 63%. (The Poor)

Income $ 15000-29,999, Bush 42%; Kerry 57%. (Lowest Middle Class income)

Income $ 30,000-49,999, Bush 49%, Kerry 50% (Low Middle class income).
