They counted all of the absentee ballots in the state toward the vote total in that county on the web-site. It was a tyo and has been changed. The story is BS. The people who are still thinking Kerry will win are dillusional.

I had the same experience on my first few posts. I have a big mouth and will never close it. After a few posts, the SOB was nowhere to be heard from again. Perhaps it is his way of exposing trolls?

Crazy Dangerous..
I have always subcribed to the "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer" theory, but in the case of DU, I have to draw the line.
We reall, really, really really, DO NOT CARE what the DUmmies say.
OTOH "we really, really, really, really really, really like girls.
I love the way that they giggle when they walk up and ask you to dance.
I love the way that they wiggle in their blue jeans and skin tight pants."

GB, first post I've seen on this thread that I liked. I am willing to click on the links that someone posts because they seemed interesting. I am on the DUFU ping list but saw another chance to laugh at someones treck into the DUngeon. All the flame throwing is out of line, like you said. We all take time to get acclimated and make a mistake or two. New people should be encouraged because if they have a desire to be here they are most likely going to contribute to the debate/conversations. Thanks for stating, what should have been obvious.

Ok. I am not feeling the "KARMIC" thing going on here.
When I read that karmic hug thing right after the election, I had the best laugh in a long time.
Karmic Hug, "What a bunch of maroons". (bugs bunny voice)

I hope someone is keeping a record of the madness and downright meanness of what is being posted at the DU. I have visited the site four or five times since the election and I too have real problems coming to grips with the fact that these people actually believe the stuff they are posting. It's like a policy forum run straight from the funny farm. And as for the meanness, some of it is worse than many of you may realize, but out of decency I will omit the details, though I think most of you can guess.
I really do believe we can make use of some of the things posted on that site down the road if someone keeps a record. I hope so.

"I'm all confused now. If Kerry won so strongly in Cuyahoga County...what are they bitching about? The discovery of such overvoting would hurt Kerry, not Bush."
You are right in your observation that the discovery of overvoting in Cuyahoga would benefit Bush, since it was 60+% for Kerry. But the Cuyahoga Board of Elections has already admitted they made a mistake in reporting the overvoting and their official tally of votes cast now lines up with voters recorded.
To: DaiHuy
DaiHuy, your information is bogus. The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections has corrected its error. Go to the following page to see it:
Cuyahoga County Board of Elections Retracts Report of Overvoting
I'll paste in an excerpt:
"
Finally, an explanation that hopefully will make sense to all... this is what I was trying to explain visually - hopefully this makes more sense! Thanks for the help!
The "ballots cast" numbers are inflated due to the software that groups cities or wards that share the same ballot grouping or ballot combination.
For example, Bay Village is in the 10th congressional district, the 16th house district, and the 24th state senate district. 10/16/24 is what is known as a ballot grouping or ballot combination. In even-numbered years, Cuyahoga County's BOE software counts votes by these ballot groupings.
In that ballot grouping are the communities that share the same 10/16/24 designation. That includes cities like Rocky River, Westlake, Fairview Park, and North Olmsted.
So the total ballots cast for Bay Village takes the actual number of ballots cast, plus all the absentee ballots that were cast from those other communities belonging to the 10/16/24 grouping. That's why "ballots cast" is so high.
The software throws in every absentee ballot for that particular 10/16/24 grouping in every community that is part of the grouping. That explains why when you also look at Rocky River, Westlake, Fairview Park, and North Olmsted, the number of" ballots cast" in those cities exceeds "registered" voters as well. (Only Westlake's isn't higher - but it is 25,000 to 25,000).
The reason the numbers are inflated under "Ballots cast" is because the number for Bay Village includes the absentee ballots cast in Bay Village, Rocky River, Westlake and North Olmsted."
Go on dreaming that Kerry won Ohio. He lost it. Ok - this is the visual. I apologize for any anxiety that went along with these numbers.

Being a life long Democract it's easy to understand. Liberal Democracts represent the world and world views and Republicans represent America and what separates America from the world.

But you forgot to add that what separates America from the world is our unique ability to face and tell the truth, even when it is difficult.

A comment repost, from another issue but relevant here..
One more thing, intellectualism, religious ritualism (re-affirmation of Jesuss parables), and human compassion are what makes the United States uniquely successful in the history of the world. Communism has intellectualism, South America/Central America has ritualism, has England has intellectualism and ritualism, France supposedly has intellectualism and compassion, the Middle East has ritualism, and Asia has intellectualism and ritualism, but we have all three. And thats my religion
We have big "footsteps" to follow....

Awww, lighten up, man.
I visit the sewer once in a while myself (it is listed on my FAVORITES as "toilet trash"), just to see how the other side is doing (usually freaking out) and thinking (usually not thinking at all).
And so any time anyone gives their impression of those deranged fools and self-serving idiots, it's illumination and entertainment for the rest of us.
The only problem I have with all this, though, is that the DUmmies are pretty small potatoes, in the internet world, while FreeRepublic is a cerebral giant of political and intellectual discourse.....and surely there must be a socialist web-site more our own size, to tackle.
We're picking on infantile kids here, and yeah, it's fun and all that, but it's not honest sport.
But for the meantime, it is interesting to hear what others on FreeRepublic think, when encountering that dark side of humanity over there.

Obviously you didn't read my the whole thing, like the part where I said
"These guys are in total meltdown:" , which was the first sentence., or the last sentence which reads
"Hey TEED, can you say PROVISIONAL BALLOT" Secondly it is not my information, it belongs to some yahoo named Teed someone or another. Who is a "professor" at some liberal college. I just posted it to show what a bunch of nut cases these Kerry supporters are. So you should read all of an article before you go off making half cocked decisions about what people wanted, because I voted straight Republican, even when I had to hold my nose and close my eyes to vote for McLame.
