if indeed in that Meria interview he calls Killian another critic, it would certainly lead to one asking the question-- how did he know Killian was a critic when all the reports up to that point had Killian hailing Bush as an exceptional pilot.
anybody out there want to sign up and listen to that interview?
You nailed it... same exact text. Is there a connection between this fellow and Burkett? Because Burkett's words on the main site do seem to reference the same subjects as the forged memos.
This Guy is Ward Reilly, who wrote in January 04:
Is Jennings doing an in-depth look at the charges he challenged nationally? I think not. Or how about Dan Rather? NO, I am guessing the answer is. In spite of the best resources available to them and their companies, and please remember that Jennings and Rather have EASY access to all public documents, they will not do their job. How hard could it be to find the son of an X-presidents military records? A man whos dad was the head of the CIA for goodness sake!
Military records are public records. Have Jennings, Rather, Sawyer, Brokaw, Blitzer, or ANY other national TV "journalists" found a copy of the W Bush EER`s, which are reports that are written up on EVERY soldier, EVERY 6 months while they are on active or NG duty?. No. How about the daily roll calls, which is mandatory for EVERY military unit? Uhhh, No. I was in the Infantry for 1095 days, and there were 1095 daily roll call reports in my unit, at a time which happens to have been during the same time George was in the military, that being from 1971-1974. That means that there are 6 EER`s on me and my service. (And YES, I missed a few roll calls myself, and they were all well documented)
If Bush was serving in the military, evaluations of his work every 6 months are a fact. Where are the evaluations for Bush that would prove whether he was on duty or not? They exist....they are out there. The TV folks just dont want to go there... And this is just one example in what has literally become "the norm" in national TV-news today. Those TV journalists have failed the Constitution and Bill of Rights.........
So why I ask, isn`t this on the CBS news? If I tell a lie, okay, I told a lie. But THIS is the leader of the "free world", as we so like to call it. Our elected leaders can`t lie like a common citizen. Or even make wreckless or careless statements. The whole world judges us by our leaders WORDS and actions."
It is part of an article bashing the MSM: http://traprockpeace.org/reilly_1march04.html
I think you're right. The link says he's Ward Reilly from Baton Rouge and he served in the First Infantry Division from 1971-1974.
interesting on how he focused on CBS News...

![]() 2/26/04 - Meria with Lt. Col. Bill Burkett on Bush's AWOL records Lt. Col Bill Burkett, 28 yr. Veteran, and State Plan officer for the Texas Air Natl. Guard joins me to discuss Bush's scrubbed files, AWOL and agenda. The retaliation against Bill for being a whistle blower is amazing. If he's not telling the truth, why the harrassment? Two other truth tellers on Bush's records are DEAD (Lt.Colonel William Harris and Lt.Col. Jerry Killian). Lt.Col. Burkett exposed the corruption in the National Guard with the Ghost Soldiers. He also was there when Karen Hughes and Allbaugh decided to eliminate anything in Bush's files that could prove embarrassing before his "bio" and run for Prez. He says Bush's military files are only a small piece of it; He exposes the false imaging of the National Guard; the Code of Military Justice (not equal for all); who truly owns the military; record keeping in the military; the goals of the Bush administration - "They want to change America and strengthen the do-ers at the top", not the average "weight lifter". Bill agrees that the changes that must be done throughout the entire governme nt can't come from the government. It has to be a grassroots campaign. Awesome interview. In the news: US lifts ban on Libya (Cheney's oil); Rosie says yes to marriage; Gov of Arizona asks Bush why the gas price hikes?; Prez of Macedonia killed in PLANE crash?; Putin fires most of his cabinet; CIA says danger as great as ever; More threats by bin Laden aide and from a Shi'ite Leader in Iraq; Storm hits California; Dengue in Indonesia; Questionable U.S. vaccines in Nigeria; Bush says he'll turn back refugees from Haiti; Howard Stern censored by Clear Channel (1st amendment, anyone?); No extension for 9/11 panel? Head to quit?; WalMart donates/BUYS Congress for 2004 se-lection (85% to Repugs); Mexico & EU say no to U.S. poultry; Canadian soldiers GASSED BY THEIR OWN www.canada.com/news/story.html?id=1BB2B532-E22F-4E09-B8FC-73E88A357134; Swiss study says the heat in Europe last year was mild to what's coming; Ba-bye to LBJ's GOOD FRIEND - Bill Moyers, and more "stuff". |

Ward Reilly and Bill Burkett were both signers on some "Veteran's Call to Conscience" thing with a bunch of other vets...

yeah, and what strikes me is that in this summary by an interviewer who clearly has an anti-bush bias in the lead of this interview with Burkett says this--
"Two other truth tellers on Bush's records are DEAD (Lt.Colonel William Harris and Lt.Col. Jerry Killian). "
So by calling Killian a "truthteller", what is she implying? Truthtellers, according to this interviewer would be Harris-Killian AND Burkett. Could it be that they (whoever Meria got the info from) saw those forged memos? Or is it a more innocent way of saying they had records of Bush, etc.?
Ward and Burkett both signed an anti war petition, but it doesn't give any evidence at all that they know each other.

FOUND POST APPARENTLY BY BURKETT ON 8-13-04 FROM DEMOCRATS.COM WITH INTERESTING EXCERPT:
I have found no documentation from LTC Killian's hand or staff that indicate that this unit was involved in any complicit way to either cover for the failures of 1LT Bush, or to provide him pay or certification for training not completed. On the contrary, LTC Killians' remarks are rare, indeed, especially considering that 1LT Bush was known clearly as a congressman's son and had utilized his position as such, to gain a favor of his failure to train while in Alabama. I have to believe that earning that favor was completed by false pretenses also due to LTC Killian's officer evaluation comment.

He apparently served on a panel and used an odd credential.

It is imperative that the anti-war movementand YOUNG PEOPLE IN PARTICULAR-- familiarize ourselves with the issue of the draft well before it is reinstituted. In the event that Washington decides to conduct a serious push for reinstituting the draft, after say the election, the anti-war movement should be in a position to respond quickly to changing circumstances. Come to this forum led by legal experts, veterans, and activists on the "surprise" that the US government---whether run by Bush or Kerryhas in mind for America's young people and how you can organize against it.

Interesting 9-9-04 Salon.com article on the Killian memos-- referring to a fellow named Paul Lukasiak who heads up "The AWOL Project"... talking about all his research...
http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:UYEYWUy_BmkJ:www.salon.com/news/feature/2004/09/09/bush_guard_duty/+%22Paul+Lukasiak%22+Killian&hl=en
Maybe a lead would be on this guy Lukasiak?
Following the salon link leads to a lengthy file of charges about Bush's service. This guy really did his homework. He synopsizes his charges against Bush, and mentions that he failed to take a physical. He doesn't back this up anywhere, like he does with his other charges. Was this failure to take a physical commonly known or knowable before the Rathergate memos?

This is the page I referenced above.
Yes. There is no doubt President Bush didn't take his July 1972 physical. It was an issue in 2000. The FOIA documents showed that he was suspended from flying because of it.
The President maintains he didn't need to take a flight physical because he was drilling in Alabama, which didn't have the F-102 jets he flew, and wouldn't be flying. According to the President's people, they were phasing out the F-102 in Texas, anyway, and as more pilots returned home from Vietnam, it was becoming difficult for the TXANG folks to actually get flight time. The records released in the past few weeks show this --- the President had more flight simulator and training plane missions than he did previously. The Democrats are trying to spin that this was because the President was a drunk druggie, just like they did in 2000.
Robert A. Rogers is another name I expect to surface soon. He was involved in the 2000 smears, and might be a Democrat opposition research type.
