"It seems his campaign is embracing them (since they showed part of the CBS "report" in one of their commercials), however."

Wow, that was one quickly created ad </sarcasm>. Obviously a preplanned followup on the 60 Minutes broadcast. Talk about coordination of efforts.

It makes sense, the DNC solicits allies like Moveon.org, e.g., to plant these documents in the news with the willing collusion of CBS, expressly for the purpose of establishing them in the public domain.

The Kerry campaign can then turn around and trade on CBS's credibility by using the broadcast version as factual evidence in their ads.(After all, if it's on TV it must be true, right?)

If the fraud is exposed, at least the DNC and the campaign are one step removed and can deny wrongdoing.

This particular fraud was a key building block in the carefully crafted plan to smear GW as having been a drug addict while in the service...That that is why he "refused a medical exam including a drug test."

First they had to establish incriminating circumstances for his not taking a physical ("refusing a direct order!"), which circumstances would then need to be explained, and the drug use slander is the explanation to be foisted on the public.

They no doubt have some followup fraud lined up for October, closer to the election, to really juice up the smear. I would look for more ridiculous "witnesses" like the typewriter repairman, the phoney "document expert," and the 86 year-old Bush-hating secretary to be ushered out of the woodwork and into their 15 minutes of fame.

The whole enterprise became much more difficult, and less efffective, when the big bomb blew up in the bomb-makers' faces. However, I suspect the DNC will salvage what they can and limp onward. What choice do they have?

O'Loud Mouth is a former anchor for "Inside Edition."
Enough said.

I think you guys should give Bill the benefit of the doubt. Remember it's Fox news & Bill who are reporting & shedding light on the story.

Frankly, if I were a demokrat, I would shoot this lame horse (ala Toricelli). Tie the fraud to Kerry to kill his candidacy, and then put up a new candidate (Edwards/Klinton).

O`Reilly denied on his show one night he was going to run in 2006 against Hilliary for the Senate. However,he must have some agenda because he is trying to pull away from the conservative base and stay middle of the road. When he was asked by Laura Ingrim who he was voting for he said he was not sure. She looked amazed when he said that.
