Misdirection by DNC. CBS wouldn't take information from moveon.org, c'mon.

Our source assures us the Kerry campaign had nothing to do with the memo itself
I think this is just SPIN to point away to someone else. They tried this the other day by pointing to that tard in Texas.
According to a Kerry campaign source, there was little gossip about the supposedly hot documents inside the office of the campaign on McPherson Square. "Those documents were not something anyone was talking about or trying to generate buzz on," says the staffer. "It wasn't like there were small groups of people talking about this as a bombshell. I think people here weren't sure what to make of it, because provenance of these documents was uncertain." A CBS producer, who initially tipped off The Prowler about the 60 Minutes story, says that despite seeking professional assurances that the documents were legitimate, there was uncertainty even among the group of producers and researchers working on the story. "The problem was we had one set of documents from Bush's file that had Killian calling Bush 'an exceptionally fine young officer and pilot.' And someone who Killian said 'performed in an outstanding manner.' Then you have these new documents and the tone and content are so different." The CBS producer said that some alarms bells went off last week when the signatures and initials of Killian on the documents in hand did not match up with other documents available on the public record, but producers chose to move ahead with the story. "This was too hot not to push. If there were doubts, those people didn't show it," says the producer, who works on a rival CBS News program.

Do not believe the spin as the DNC and Kerry try to point to someone else. When it is proved that the fake memos came from the Kerry campaign it is opver!

It is also illegal for 527s to coordinate with campaigns, so this little office gossiper just gave crushkerry reason to call the Feds.

It's major CYA time for the Dems.

"I believe they do want this off the news cycles, but I also believe they are lying about Moveon.org producing them - I think they leaked this tidbit because they are close to getting found out and are looking to blame someone inside the organization that is outside the DNC."
If you're right it will be one of the dumbest political moves in history. The moveon crowed isn't exactly in love with Kerry. They could turn on him at the drop of a hat.

Those guys dont know campaigns. Theyre driven by their emotions, not by the dispassionate resolve it takes to win a campaign. And so theyre prone to do stupid things like this, which hurts everybody, she said.
The rumors and speculation are true: the Dems really thought that partisan fury could substitute political campaigning. In other news, the sky is blue, water is wet, and martinis are a perfectly respectable lunchtime beverage.

Fair question from Petronski, and fair skepticism from the others. First, you can look to post #1 to see the link to show you our sources track record.
Also, many wonder why our site would get this kind of stuff from the Kerry people. Also a fair point that we've been asked before. Without giving away too much there are several factors. One, could simply just be a friendly personal relationship between people.
Second, we are under no illusion about the motives of our sources. There is a lot of backbiting and one-ups-manship in campaigns and sometimes people like to trash a competitor inside their own campaign to gain proximity to decision-makers and campaign leaders. While these may not be the purest of motives, we just want to get the information out there.

I think it's possible, the amatuerish nature of these forgeries has made me wonder, the people at the Kerry campaign can't be this dumb. Moveon.org, however, are made of people who were protesting in NYC.
To: Libertarianize the GOP
If he duped 60 minutes it would be to give government an excuse to control what the media can say about candidates for office.I don't think it was Soros...mainly because he could have hired a more professional forger.

Anybody, including crushkerry.com, can and will be used in a political disinformation campaign. Sorry, but I do not trust this story and I do not trust the "source". Blaming MoveOn.org is way too convenient.
A good disinformation/counterintelligence campaign will provide mostly "good" information in order to make the selected pieces of "dis"information credible. It's the oldest trick in the book.

That's a thoughtful response, lending credibility to you.
I'd just be so damn tickled to find this is true, and then to see moveon.org snipe back, and then to watch the recriminations fly!
