yep, she has been out for the past two years trying to get on tv more and more.
She has an axe to grind. And she has been discredited on some stuff.

"But while Edmonds' letter delivered a cascade of specific allegations, perhaps the most explosive charge she makes concerns information the bureau was said to have received four months prior to September 2001, information warning of the September 11 plan. While both President Bush and National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice have repeatedly denied that there was any indication that airplanes would be used as a terror weapon, Edmonds revealed that in April 2001 the bureau had information that bin Laden was "planning a major terrorist attack in the United States targeting four to five major cities"; "the attack was going to involve airplanes"; some of those involved were already "in the United States"; and the attack would be "in a few months". Edmonds states that the information came from "a long-term FBI informant/asset" and that it was sent to the "special agent in charge of counter-terrorism" in Washington. She also charges that after September 11 "the agents and translators were told to 'keep quiet' regarding this issue".

This is not surprising at all. For a glimpse of how broke the CIA was, it's worth reading "See No Evil" by Robert Baer. I was angry as hell after reading it and if things haven't changed, we are in deep trouble.

To clarify the point about Pres. Bush and NSA Rice, you folks are assuming the information made it past "special agent in charge of counter-terrorism" in Washington. I tend to think it died on the vine right here. The climate in both the FBI and CIA was "do not stick your neck out" no matter what. And, if anything pointed to Saudi Arabia, ignore it or you will be pulling a tour in Alaska for the next 5 years.

There will always be malcontents in the FBI (temporarily) I think she should go back where she came from an open a used camel lot.

Previously, while being careful not to violate the legal silencing measures imposed on her by the FBI, the courts and the Justice Department, she has leveled damning criticisms in the media of her former employers and what she has termed the Bush administration's "anti-transparency, anti-accountability and their corrupt attitudes".

Except that these are still clinton's people in the department.

The terrorists very carefully committed no illegal acts up to the very point they started cutting throats. The knives they carried on board were perfectly legal at the time.

Had Bush known exactly what they were planning, he would have had no legal authority to prevent them boarding their planes. (Although I presume he would have done something anyway, and been climbed all over by the press for it.)
